Hi Rayn, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
I think what is misunderstood about my photography business is that it may look easy and fun all of the time when in reality it has been a huge challenge. The late night editing, being the social media marketer, the keeping track of financials, keeping up with socials, communicating with current, and future clients, driving to and from photoshoots, there is so much that goes on behind the scenes!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello! My name is Rayn Nachreiner. I am a self employed photographer specializing in Weddings, Destination Weddings, and couples. What makes my business unique is my calm + collected personality, my professionalism, and my quick turn around times. I truly care about my clients and their images. I started my journey in 2020 when I wasn’t sure what I truly wanted to do in life. I was gifted my first camera and started taking photos of family and friends for free, 24/7 until I realized that this had fallen into my lap for a reason, and I really enjoyed how it made me feel. This has given me so many incredible opportunities and this profession has made me jump out of my comfort zone and I have learned to never say no!
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
My mom. My mom was a single mom most of my childhood and has always worked so hard to provide for us.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I deal with anxiety, it can be quite intense at times, and once I started photography that feeling I felt started to go away. Don’t get me wrong, I still deal with anxiety, but it’s much more manageable now. I don’t hide from it anymore, I embrace it!
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Loyalty, communication, and honesty.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes, I could. I do everything in my life now, for myself. I do everything to make myself proud + happy. Seeing myself win is huge.
