Author Tiffany simmons shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Tiffany, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
People sometimes misunderstand that satire and parody can be just as meaningful as serious literature. My book uses humor and even AI illustration as a creative choice, and financial reasons. not a shortcut. I think it surprises people that comedy can carry truth and relatability just as much as any other genre and we all have to start somewhere to get to where we want to be.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Tiffany Simmons, an independent writer and creator who isn’t afraid to tell it like it is. I make humor-driven books for parents that mix real-life chaos, satire, and even some AI-powered illustrations to tell stories in a bold, unexpected way. My brand is all about celebrating the messy, hilarious, and relatable moments of everyday life—especially for parents who feel like they’re surviving a comedy of errors. Right now, I’m currently working on my next parenting chronicle book, bringing more laughter and chaos into readers’ lives
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world tried to tell me who to be, I was just… me: outspoken, and zero-filter. I liked doing what I wanted, saying what I wanted, and watching life happen without overthinking it. Somewhere along the way, the world tried to box me into being ‘proper’ or ‘polished,’ but honestly, I never fit—and I’m better off for it. That’s exactly the energy I bring to my books: honest, chaotic, and unapologetically real.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain when I realized some things in life just can’t be changed—so why not turn them into humor? If you can laugh at the chaos, the frustration, and the nonsense, you can turn pain into something positive and even powerful.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m committed to creating stories that make parents laugh, nod, and maybe even cry a little—no matter how long it takes. Life’s messy, chaotic, and sometimes exhausting, but if I can turn that chaos into humor and relatability, then every late night, every rewrite, and every spilled coffee is worth it.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
What I understand that most people don’t is that everyone has their own journey, their own reasons, and their own choices. Life doesn’t always make sense, and trying to control or judge it won’t help—sometimes the best thing you can do is let things be what they are.
