Story & Lesson Highlights with Armand Arnould of Twin Cities

Armand Arnould shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Armand, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
Honestly I’d say I’ve been chasing the feeling of being heard, and understood. I’ve wanted others to truly listen to what I’m saying; understanding the pain, and turmoil I have gone through. I also chase the dream of being able to bring people together, and heal through the community I have been creating/growing.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Armand; I also go by my stage name LiL G0$HA. I create alternative indie music, with heavy inspirations of punk pop, and emo trap music. I also recently started a new collective called A2A (ashes 2 ashes) which consists of a few other alternative artists within the Twin Cities. I would say my ability to stay so connected, and active within our cities scene is what makes my brand/collective unique;
I definitely try to include as many people as I can, as I believe the most important part of music is connecting with the people around you.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before I knew what my mission was; I was just a lost soul floating around this ball of dirt. I really had no aim or goals, I had no drive. Honestly before I found music, and really dived into it; I really had no belief I was even going to make it to 21. I’m glad I’m here now, but music DEFINITELY helped me find my place in this world.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
100%! I’ve definitely been S O overwhelmed with projects; whether it be creating a set with a deadline, creating new EPs, or even just staying on top of creating content, and managing my social media accounts! Regardless though, I keep it pushing; I NEVER forget I do this for myself, and I always remember I do this for the passion.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
I definitely try to keep it as transparent as I can.
I’m very much a “what you see is what you get” kind of person. If you’ve ever met me in person; you’ll definitely be quick to realize this.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Honestly nothing. I try to live my life as if each day was my last. I can’t say there is nothing I would change; except maybe quit my day job lol!
