Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Bergman.
Hi Aaron, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always had a passion for travel, but the spark really started when I studied abroad in college. I loved planning my own itineraries, exploring new places, and realizing how much the world had to offer. From there, my career took me through all kinds of customer service roles—cashiering, managing a cell phone store, supporting food delivery companies—but I always felt a pull toward small business and creating something of my own. At one point, I even ran a little karaoke business back in my hometown of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, because I loved bringing people together to have fun.
When I moved to Phoenix a few years before the pandemic, I started looking into becoming a travel advisor. I signed up for training but had to step back for health reasons. The idea never left me, though. In 2022, with encouragement from my fiancé, Ian, I finally decided to go all in—I enrolled in a program and launched Find Your Pride Travel.
At first, I focused on Disney and Las Vegas, since those were destinations I knew inside and out. But as I connected with more LGBTQIA+ travelers, I saw a much bigger need: vacations designed with our community in mind. Travel has the power to change lives, but for queer travelers—and for people with intersecting identities like being neurodivergent or a person of color—there’s an added layer of needing to feel safe, welcomed, and free to be ourselves. That’s become the heart of my business: making travel not just accessible, but affirming.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’ve always wanted my business to be about building community and connection, but early on, I struggled with figuring out how to connect with others and attract the right clients to serve. It was frustrating because I knew the value I could offer, but I wasn’t sure how to share it in a way that felt authentic.
Getting my ADHD diagnosis this year changed everything. It helped me understand how I naturally make connections and discover what I now see as a “superpower.” Once I embraced this, things started clicking—I began getting more inquiries, signing clients who were the right fit, and making a lot of new friends along the way.
Recently, a colleague and I started a new Facebook group within our professional network specifically for neurodivergent travel advisors. It’s still in its early stages, but the goal is to create a space for support, learning, and encouragement—helping others navigate the same challenges I faced. Starting this group has reminded me that my business isn’t just about travel; it’s about fostering connection and community, both with clients and within my industry.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Find Your Pride Travel started because I wanted queer travelers to experience the world without compromise. Early on, I noticed that even something as simple as planning a trip could feel overwhelming or stressful. For example, transgender travelers often face extra challenges—wondering if a destination is safe, if accommodations will respect their identity, or how to navigate experiences authentically. I wanted to create a space where these concerns are taken seriously and travelers can focus on enjoying the journey.
What I love most about my work is getting to know people and what matters to them. Some clients want to celebrate Pride abroad, others want to explore new cultures or just unwind without worry. Every trip is different, and the goal is always the same: to create a space where travelers can feel fully themselves. Over time, I realized my real specialty isn’t the destinations—it’s the human connection behind every journey.
I’m especially proud that the business reflects my values: safety, joy, and connection. It’s about more than logistics—it’s about helping people make memories, discover new places, and experience the freedom of traveling as themselves. That’s what I want readers to know: Find Your Pride Travel is about empowerment, belonging, and adventure, all wrapped into one unforgettable experience.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I think we’ve covered most of the big points, but a few additional things might be helpful to know. I’m a certified travel professional, trained through Wanderlust Campus, an ASTA-affiliated company, and I’m also a SNG Certified Accessible Travel Advocate. I’ve been working in the travel industry for over three years, helping LGBTQIA+ travelers plan meaningful, safe, and memorable trips. I work with clients throughout the United States, with the exception of Hawaii and Washington.
On a more personal note, travel has always been central to my life. My fiancé is a travel nurse, so we get to explore new places together frequently—and he even proposed to me on a vacation to Las Vegas! Moments like that remind me why I love helping others create unforgettable experiences through travel.
