We’re looking forward to introducing you to Anne Messerli. Check out our conversation below.
Anne, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about your customers?
That many of them have the same struggles when it comes to getting rid of items. They are connected to the item instead of the memory. I like to help them realize this and figure out ways to cherish the memories without keeping the clutter. Each client is different but the struggle is real for most people with this situation.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a former high school Spanish teacher (20 years) who decided to take a leap of faith on something I love doing! I still get to help people but in a different way. God put me on this earth to help others and I love that I could adjust my life to do what I LOVE to do: organize. What I bring to the table is not only my organizational skills but the heart that comes along with helping people get rid of the clutter that could be cluttering up their life. An orgANNEized space is a happy place is my tagline because I LOVE to make people happy. If decluttering and organizing is the way to make people’s lives happier, than I’m all in!
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
My parents. My dad ran his own CPA firm for over 40 years and really taught me the value of hard work and the value of a dollar! My mom had to work to help out the family but she never complained, she was also a very hard worker and still is to this day. My parents believed in always following through and doing your best no matter what you do. They have taught me the value of hard work and that it does pay off.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes. I got into a horrible accident in November 2022 and couldn’t work my business (physically) for 18 months. It was so hard to not stay in the depression funk that I got into BUT I turned it around and really dove into marketing my business. My clients were still there for me when I could go back to work and I even got new clients.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
My belief in Jesus. No matter what, He comes first in my life. I wouldn’t be where I am in life without my faith!
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people talk about how helpful and real I was. That I didn’t back down from hard work and really helped all people, regardless of how they may have treated me. I hope they see my kindness and know that my helping heart was real.
