An Inspired Chat with Galvy Ngimukua of Minneapolis

We recently had the chance to connect with Galvy Ngimukua and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Galvy, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
What I’m being called to do now is express myself more openly, which honestly used to scare me. I was always more quiet and kept a lot to myself, but stepping into my role as a streetwear designer has pushed me to speak up and own my creative path. The big shift came when I stopped treating Witness Greatness like a side hustle and decided to go all in.

Over the past six months, I’ve learned to let go of just relying on my own ideas, take more advice, and think bigger about where I want this brand to go. It hasn’t been easy, but I’m finally taking responsibility for my future instead of shying away from it. I still face challenges, but now I’m more willing to lean into them, knowing they’re shaping me into the person I’m supposed to become.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Galvy Ngimukua, and I’m the founder and designer behind Witness Greatness, a faith-driven streetwear brand built to keep people grounded in purpose and resilience. For a long time I treated design as a side hustle, but over the past year I’ve fully stepped into it as my calling. What makes Witness Greatness unique is that it’s not just clothes, it’s wearable motivation. Every piece blends clean, streetwear-inspired design with scripture and messages that remind people to keep pushing through setbacks and distractions. Right now, I’m focused on growing the brand from a small capsule collection into a full lifestyle label, while staying true to the mission of helping people live their faith and their purpose out loud.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I often looked for validation from others, even when I felt I was doing the right thing. Over time, I’ve grown more confident and learned to trust my own intuition and judgment. Now I rely less on outside approval and more on the conviction that I’m walking the path God meant for me.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me gratitude and reminded me to always rely on God. If everything had come easily through success, I might have believed that my strength came from my own power instead of His. Struggle has a way of humbling us, stripping away ego, and revealing what truly matters. It builds resilience, patience, and perspective in ways that success alone never can. While success feels good in the moment, struggle shapes your character and that’s a lesson I could have never learned without walking through hardship.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
One truth that’s foundational for me is that everyone is created differently and at different stages in life, so comparison is irrelevant when it comes to judging the quality or purpose of someone’s journey. I believe we all have a unique purpose, and no one’s life holds more value than another’s.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
I think the biggest misunderstanding about my legacy might be that it’s only about clothing or fashion. Witness Greatness isn’t just a brand; it’s a movement rooted in faith, resilience, and purpose. My hope is that people see beyond the designs and recognize that the true legacy is about inspiring others to trust God, stay motivated through struggle, and live boldly in their calling.
