Angie Larson of St. Croix County, WI on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Angie Larson shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Angie , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Have you ever been glad you didn’t act fast?
When I first started, I thought success meant saying yes to everything. With experience, I’ve learned that slowing down and being selective actually leads to better work and happier clients. It’s about choosing the right partnerships, not just the next ones.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Chef Angie, owner of Mindful Fork Catering in River Falls, WI. My passion is creating chef-driven, farm-to-fork menus that celebrate fresh, locally sourced ingredients and bring people together around the table. What makes Mindful Fork unique is that we don’t believe in cookie-cutter menus—each event is personalized to reflect the season, the couple, or the celebration at hand.

We’ve recently expanded beyond catering to include new pop-up dining experiences and our own event venue Primrose & Pines, giving us even more ways to connect people through food. At the heart of it all, my story has always been about honoring real ingredients, supporting local growers, and showing that luxury service can still feel approachable and warm.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
There comes a point in growth where working in your business is no longer possible if you want it to truly thrive.

I’ve learned that stepping back from the day-to-day allows me to work on the business — creating, planning, and building what’s next.

It’s not easy to let go, but growth requires it.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You are enough exactly as you are. The doubts you feel now don’t define you, and the insecurities will fade as you grow into the person you’re meant to be. Trust yourself, lean into your passions, and know that your strength and kindness will carry you further than you can imagine.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I truly admire any woman that lives their true life without regrets or worry. I honestly want to sit down with every strong woman I come across and share stories! I just love to chat about personal and professional growth.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
My morals & scruples. A man has nothing but his word… always be a man of your word and move forward with grace & dignity
