Meet Jake Luehrs of Keller Williams Integrity NW, Keller Williams Integrity Edina, Lead Inward – National Leadership Training

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jake Luehrs.

Hi Jake, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve been in leadership in some capacity for over two decades. I started with running a brokerage when I was 25 years old. That lead into other opportunities. I took over a Keller Williams office in 2010, running the most profitable office in the region during that time.

I’m moved to another opportunity in 2013, taking over a different Keller Williams Office in Minneapolis. I was with that office for 5 years and our team grew from 91 agents to just shy of 300 in that time frame, becoming number 1 in market share by office in Minneapolis.

While I may have been the one leading the office, every single leadership member and realtor in the office was part of that growth.

From their, I became the general manager of 5 different offices, eventually moving into franchise owner of those offices with over 850 agents combined.

And in 2024, I made some significant changes to put priorities in the right order…taking care of myself, my family, then focusing on businesses.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been anything but smooth.

Self-awareness and self leadership have become pillars in my decision making as I move forward.

I spent decades achieving phenomenal external success, all the titles, status and admiration anyone could ask for, while slowly dying inside.

I’ve experienced significant anxiety, depression, and a lack of self worth…chasing things thanking that they would fix those things. And ultimately, all the external success did was magnify those things.

I’ve become more vocal about my challenges, because as I’ve learned, coached, and talked with so many high producers, I’ve found a theme that many are highly successful in their careers, but their personal lives and mental health are a disaster. Yet the commitment to upholding an image is causing them to stay successful in the eyes of others while they suffer in silence.

I’m a significant advocate for personal responsibility, working hard, and being accountable. And I believe it’s critically important for people to do the internal work of knowing themselves and having the courage to live within their values, authentically. I simply talk to far too many people that are suffering, but not willing to take ownership of the hard decisions.

It’s what has lead me to start training nationally on self leadership and leadership! That will be part of my path for decades to come.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We have nearly 300 realtors in and around the Twin Cities that are part of our organization, mainly focusing on residential.

My approach to running businesses is to build people first, and when people grow, the business grows. Many reverse that order. I simply don’t believe over time that works.

My belief is that a foundational approach on focusing on developing people, encouraging them to take on challenging things, taking personal responsibility for results, and the plugging into the organization for support and accountability gives them the best chance not only for external success, but also for fulfillment along the way.

I believe that makes us very different in our approach. We are here to support people, encourage them, provide resources and development, but we aren’t here to save people. We all have our individual responsibility to do that.

We have significant business building resources, knowledge and expertise that allow our agents to thrive if they choose.

We stand for growth, we stand for responsibility, we stand to include anyone that resonates with respect, responsibility, growth, and fun!
