Today we’d like to introduce you to Nadia Zamoida.
Hi Nadia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started Little Mix of Everything Photography with the sole intent of capturing all of the things in my life that I’m passionate about. I knew that out of all of them, my biggest passion was sports and so I wanted to branch out into that industry when the time was right so I began reaching out to sports clubs at the University I attend and landed a gig with two club teams for their seasons and they all welcomed me with open arms. That very first time I looked through photos I had taken at a practice, I was so excited because not only did the photos come out so much better than I had expected, I realized I was capable of telling stories through photos. As soon as I knew what I was capable of doing, I couldn’t stop. I was at practices almost every week and games almost every weekend between the months of September and April. Now, my entire brand is still based around the hodgepodge of things I love but I know that sports photography is my true passion.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I don’t think that any journey is smooth. There’s always going to be obstacles you have to face in order to become more successful and feeling accomplished. I think, in my own journey, the biggest obstacle I’ve faced is self judgement in my work. Just constantly running into those times where I’m editing and I get so frustrated because I feel like I could have gotten a better shot. It’s a lot of anxiety that comes from within that, eventually, I trudge through, because after all they’re just thoughts. I just keep working and keep putting practice into what I do cause I know that sitting there and feeling bad about myself isn’t going to help me get better at photography.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in everything that interests me but for the most part, it’s sports photography! If you go to my Instagram page, you’ll find it filled with sports photos with a few posts sprinkled in that vary between my other interests too! I think I can say I’m mostly known for my sports photography. What I’m most proud of is the fact that I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone to be able to get those incredible shots that tell a story and express emotion.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
There are so many people that deserve the credit in this journey of mine including my close friends who are constantly encouraging me, and my family who are usually the first to get my favorite shots via text message because I’m SO excited about them. I also want to express my sincerest gratitude to the fellow creators I’ve had the pleasure of meeting in-person or through social media who are never hesitant in spreading their wisdom and encouragement in the world of creating! Last, but certainly not least, I of course have the teams to thank for allowing me to come to their practices and games so that I can make my visions come to life. They are the true stars of my work, and I am eternally grateful!
