Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Dake.
Hi Jamie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up with a mom who was a cosmetologist, so beauty has always been a part of my world. From a young age, I struggled with my own skin. My mom would take me for facials, bring me to the dermatologist, and buy me packs of Proactiv (which, at the time, I had no idea how to even use!). I barely knew what a facial really was back then, but looking back, those experiences planted the first seeds of curiosity about skincare and self-confidence.
By the time my senior year of high school came around, I knew college wasn’t for me. My mom took me to tour Aveda, and that’s when everything clicked. I became eager to learn everything about the skin—and that curiosity quickly grew into a passion for advanced practice services.
When I first started my career, I had no idea where it would take me. I began at a spa, brand new to the world of esthetics. I was so lucky to have an amazing manager, who now is one of my closest friends. Over time, I built a wonderful clientele, trained other estheticians, and even managed a team. After facing some challenges and uncertainty, I had the opportunity to start teaching esthetics—a chapter I’ll always be most grateful for. Teaching brought me back to my roots, and through the process of relearning, I became a stronger, more confident esthetician.
Now, I’m focused on building my own business. What I love most is being able to take everything I’ve learned and shape it into something that’s completely my own. It’s incredibly rewarding to be in this industry—helping others feel good in their skin and continuing to grow both personally and professionally. I’m truly so excited for what’s ahead.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not! Like with most journeys, there have been plenty of ups and downs. In the beginning, I struggled a lot with self-doubt. When you’re brand new to the industry, it’s so easy to compare yourself to others and question whether you’re doing things “right.”
Working in a spa environment came with its own challenges—learning how to build a clientele, balancing different personalities, and managing the pressure to always deliver a perfect service. Managing a team at such a young age was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. While it didn’t work out the way I envisioned, it made me so much stronger. That experience humbled me and taught me that I don’t need to take everything so seriously. I learned what I truly love about what I do, what I don’t love as much, and what it means to genuinely work hard without losing myself in the process.
Later, when I transitioned into teaching, I had to completely relearn and reframe so many things. It was humbling, but it made me a much stronger esthetician and professional. Once I learned to let go of the pressure and give myself grace, I started to feel less stressed and more at ease. As long as I keep my standards high but stay easygoing, I know I’ll continue to grow—not just as an esthetician, but as a person.
As you know, we’re big fans of Limitless Wellness and Aesthetics. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My business is centered around corrective skincare. I work closely with my business partner, Shelby Deitchler, who is a nurse practitioner. Together, we see whats happening on the surface, but also identifying internal factors that may be affecting the skin. I specialize in skincare and brows, creating customized treatments that help clients achieve healthy, balanced, and confident skin.
What sets us apart is the strength of both of our practices. Every treatment is personal and tailored to each individual, because no two people’s skin is the same. We strive to create a space where clients feel safe, supported, and confident in their own skin — a place where they can not only see results but also feel empowered in their skincare journey.
I’m most proud of the trust we’ve built with our clients and the personalized care we provide. Being able to help someone feel confident in their own skin is incredibly rewarding. Every treatment is an opportunity to educate, transform, and empower. What I want readers to know about our brand is that we’re committed to results-driven, individualized care — whether it’s corrective skincare, brow services, or overall skin health. We’re here to help you not only look your best but also feel your best, inside and out.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
In the future, I see customized skincare and advanced practice services becoming the biggest part of esthetics. Technology will continue to improve, and machines and products will only get more advanced. At the same time, clients are more knowledgeable than ever about ingredients and products, which means we, as professionals, need to stay even more informed and ahead of trends to provide the best care.
