Exploring Life & Business with Heather McQueen of Biofield Tuning MPLS

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather McQueen.

Hi Heather, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was raised in rural South Dakota and later moved to Minneapolis, where I spent much of my career in advertising as a Project Manager and Producer.
About ten years ago, I began feeling a deep pull to understand health and wellness more holistically. I’d been exploring ways to address my own health challenges and found myself drawn to modalities that looked at the whole person — body, mind, and energy.
In 2017, after leaving my job in advertising, I began working as a freelance Producer. That flexibility allowed me to keep studying and experimenting with different approaches to wellness. Around that time, I discovered Biofield Tuning, a sound therapy modality founded by Eileen McKusick. When I first heard Eileen speak about how sound and frequency interact with the body’s electromagnetic field, it resonated deeply.
I was intrigued by the elegant blend of science and subtle energy work — how tuning forks could be used to locate and release patterns of tension, stress, and emotional charge stored in the bioelectric field that surrounds the human body. After my first training, I knew I’d found something truly transformative. I soon decided to move away from freelance production and commit fully to becoming a certified Biofield Tuning practitioner.
Fast forward to today — I’ve been in private practice for over two years, working with clients both in-person and remotely. Through this work, I’ve witnessed remarkable changes in myself and my clients: emotional release, improved clarity, reduced pain and anxiety, and an overall sense of lightness and resilience.
What inspires me most is witnessing how, when the field comes into balance, the body remembers how to heal. This work supports the body’s natural intelligence — helping people reconnect with their own vitality, clarity, and ease so that their innate healing potential can unfold.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the biggest challenges was learning to talk about a modality that isn’t yet widely known. Coming from my previous career — where I could easily describe my role — to working in sound therapy was a complete turnaround. It took time to develop confidence in both my voice and my ability to help others understand what I do.
Building a client base while honoring my integrity and my natural pace of growth has also been part of the journey.
And of course, running a small practice means juggling the “behind-the-scenes” details (scheduling, finances, outreach) while staying focused on the heart of the work: my clients and their goals for wellness and transformation.
But each of these challenges has taught me to trust myself and to stay authentic. It’s been a process of alignment; both personally and professionally.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Biofield Tuning MPLS, I work one-on-one with individuals seeking relief from stress, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, physical pain, or simply a desire to feel more balanced and connected.
Each session involves using tuning forks on and around the body’s biofield — a measurable electromagnetic field that holds information about our life experiences. By introducing coherent sound frequencies into areas of “noise” or dissonance, the system can relax, reorganize, and return to a more balanced state. Clients often describe feeling lighter, clearer, and more at ease — mentally, emotionally, and physically.

What sets Biofield Tuning apart from other sound healing modalities is that it’s both therapeutic and diagnostic. Unlike singing bowls, gongs, or general sound baths that bathe the body in sound, Biofield Tuning uses tuning forks as a precision tools — ones that can locate specific patterns of distortion or stress in the energy field and help the body harmonize them. It’s a collaborative process between practitioner and client, grounded in both subtle awareness and the physics of vibration.

One of the things I love most is that this work bridges science and intuition. It honors the measurable — our body’s electric nature — while also addressing the unseen: our emotions, memories, and energetic patterns that shape how we experience life.

For me, it’s not just about releasing stress; it’s about helping people remember who they are beneath the static — restoring a natural sense of clarity, vitality, and ease.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
