Community Highlights: Meet Kazenda of Healing holistically and Inara wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kazenda.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Healing Holistically began as a shared vision between my partner, Mike, and me. We both saw how individuals living with mental illness often struggled to find care that supported not only their minds but their entire being, emotional, physical, and spiritual. We wanted to create a space where healing didn’t stop at medication or therapy, but also included nutrition, movement, mindfulness, and community. That’s where the name Healing Holistically came from, it represents our belief that true healing happens when every part of you is nurtured.

As our work grew, i realized there was another group of people who might not have a clinical diagnosis but were still silently struggling. They were burnt out, emotionally exhausted, and carrying what we now call “invisible weight.” This inspired the birth of the subsidiary I decided to incorporate, Inara Wellness,a wellness brand that blends culturally rooted healing with modern mindfulness practices. Through Inara, I aim to help people reconnect with themselves, find peace in their daily lives, and remember that healing isn’t only for those in crisis, it’s for anyone ready to return to themselves.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not, but the challenges have shaped both purpose and resilience. In the beginning, we were learning how to blend clinical care with holistic healing in a system that doesn’t always make room for either creativity or compassion. Navigating state licensing, compliance requirements, and ensuring our programs met both medical and holistic standards took time and patience.

Employee retention was another challenge. Working in mental health can be emotionally demanding, so building a culture that supports staff wellness as much as client wellness became a priority. It pushed us to rethink how we structure care teams, training, and communication.

Then came the business side, forming partnerships, building trust with other organizations, and aligning with people who shared our values. Not every opportunity was the right fit, but those experiences refined our vision.

Each obstacle, from paperwork to people, taught us something about sustainability, integrity, and grace. The road hasn’t been smooth, but it’s been meaningful. Every step has reminded us why we started: to help others heal holistically while learning how to do the same ourselves.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Healing holistically and Inara wellness?
Healing Holistically is a home and community-based care organization that my partner, Mike, and I started with one simple belief, healing should treat the whole person, not just the diagnosis. We specialize in providing 24-hour supervision, individualized care, and support for people living with mental illness, helping them rebuild stability and confidence through a holistic lens. Our services go beyond clinical care, we integrate mindfulness, community connection, and everyday wellness practices that help clients truly thrive, not just survive.

What sets us apart is how we approach care, we see our clients as people first, and their healing as a journey rather than a checklist. Every plan is personalized, and our team is trained to support not only the physical and emotional needs of our clients but also their sense of purpose and belonging.

As Healing Holistically grew, we realized there were many people who might not have a mental health diagnosis but were still emotionally exhausted, people carrying what we call “invisible weight.” That inspired me to create Inara Wellness, a digital and community wellness platform designed for everyday people navigating burnout, spiritual fatigue, and emotional disconnection.

Through Inara, we blend AI-powered self-paced healing plans, reflective journaling, and live wellness experiences that are culturally rooted and heart-centered. Our brand is known for making wellness feel human, inclusive, and deeply personal.

What I’m most proud of is that both Healing Holistically and Inara were built from compassion, not trends. Whether it’s a client in our care home or a young professional using the Inara app, our goal is the same: to help people return to themselves, feel safe in their own bodies, and know that healing,in all its forms, is possible.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Most people are surprised when they find out I didn’t start in wellness or mental health. I have a degree in clinical psychology but, my background is actually in tech and finance, I worked with companies like Microsoft and Wellsfargo before stepping into this space. On the outside, everything looked great, but internally I was running on empty. That experience opened my eyes to how common burnout and emotional disconnection are, even among people who look like they have it all together.

That’s what led me here. Healing Holistically and Inara Wellness were both born out of my own process of slowing down, redefining what peace looks like, and wanting to create spaces for others to do the same. So while people see the calm, grounded side of the brand now, it actually started from chaos, from me learning to turn pain into purpose and realizing that healing, in all forms, should be accessible to everyone.
