Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Cronen.
Hi Jennifer, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Options for Women Morris started in 1996. We are a pro-life, pro-faith pregnancy and family resource center that offers families alternatives to abortion. We help the families with basic needs and parenting classes. We offer an Earn While you Learn program that allows our clients to earn points as the take classes All of our classes are available in English and Spanish and we have a Spanish advocate on our staff. We also offer pregnancy testing, STI testing, limited ultrasounds and natural family planning. All of our services are free and confidential. We do not ask for income verification or insurance. We are truly here to help whoever needs us.
I came to Options in March of 2025 when we opened our second location in Ortonville, I was a teacher and my school was closing in May. One of the teachers I worked with is a board member for Options for Women and told me about the new office and how they were looking for an Office Manager. In October 2025 I became the Executive Director for both Morris and Ortonville.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Up until 2023 we received funding from the MN Positives Alternatives. That made up about 70% of our budget, they pulled all state funding from all pro-life centers in Minnesota. Thankfully though our donors have stepped up and helped to fill that loss. The bright side of the state pulling the funding is we are no longer confined to Minnesota’s borders, so we have expanded our reach into South Dakota so we have clients in both Minnesota and South Dakota.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am the executive director for both of our offices. Prior to joining options for women I spent 10 years as a teacher and prior to that i spent 10 years in law enforcement
