Hi Amber, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi! I am Amber Rosier. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. I opened Peak Therapy Services in the fall of 2023. I wanted more flexibility with my schedule for my family. Peak Therapy Services got its name for my love of the mountains; I was born and raised (until 15) in Montana and have always found peace in the mountains. It is amazing the way mountains can hold space for big emotions. I have always found that mountains symbolize our overall life; there will be peaks (highs) and valleys (lows). Peak Therapy Services is there for you for the journey!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Contracting with insurance companies can be a struggle. It takes several months to get approval to bill, therefore not allowing you to see certain clients. The process is difficult and lengthy; however it was worth the journey! I know a lot of clients could not see a therapist without using their insurance to cover the cost.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Peak Therapy Services?
Peak Therapy Services is owned and operated by females. We are located in Brainerd and Baxter, Minnesota. We work with all genders ages 7+. Currently, Amber Rosier, MSW, LICSW and Madeline Doble, MSW, LGSW work at Peak Therapy Services, but we are hoping to grow in the years to come! We are proud to specialize in trauma work, as well as working with anxiety, depression, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, and other diagnosis. We pride ourselves in meeting the client where they are at – it is always their agenda. We strive to make therapy a comfortable and welcoming space to work through things that aren’t always easy to work through. I think the biggest compliment we have received is how genuine we are. We are professional, but at the end of the day, we are humans, too!
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
The Brainerd Lakes Area is home to many year-round. It gets even busier in the summer months with our tourist community! Brainerd has the best summers. We love the lakes, the local events such as the Nisswa Turtle Races, and other fun summer places like Pirates Cove for mini golfing or Vacation Land for go-karting! Brainerd tends to lack diversity, and we wish there was more of that.
