Check Out Anthony Eaton’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Eaton.

Hi Anthony, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In my 20s, my late husband and I had an art studio in Lowertown before moving to Florida. During that time, I created window displays for several downtown retail businesses. We continued making art after we moved, but I missed designing displays.

In 2022, after losing my husband, I decided to leave my 30-year career in Human Resources and move back. I saw how many vacant spaces existed downtown, and I recognized an opportunity to create partnerships that not only benefit property management companies, but also give local artists greater public exposure. So instead of retail windows, I began curating art exhibits in vacant, street-facing spaces. Since then, I’ve curated multiple exhibits and currently have ongoing installations at Wells Fargo Place that have received a very positive response.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
At first, it was difficult to make connections after being away for so long. I was fortunate to meet someone who had the right network, and he helped open doors for me. That support allowed me to build relationships, earn credibility, and establish myself as a professional exhibit curator.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’ve always seen myself as an artist and a creative person. When I began building a professional art career, I taught myself how to draw people and started doing pencil portraits. That gradually led me into other artistic pursuits, including window displays.

Today, in addition to being a writer and artist, I am an art exhibit curator, and I’m most proud of the work I’m doing now. What sets me apart is not only my eye for art, but also my ability to visualize a space and bring it to life through artistic installations. I also understand the business side of my work and the needs of my clients, which helps me blend creativity with practical value.

How do you define success?
Being able to do what I truly love, work with clients, and collaborate with other artists is incredibly rewarding. I enjoy creating opportunities that are unique and meaningful for everyone involved.
