Hi Calyn , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
With hopes and dreams to restore an old building to make the first full service Salon in Bemidji, Matt took on the project, honed his years of knowledge from his father and built out the old TJuans.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The smoothest, no finding obstacles of structural issues, older abandoned equipment government and redoing an entire roof on a 9000 square-foot building we put on our thinking caps and just focused on the larger picture at hand
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My wife is a cosmetologist coming up on 17 years and wanted to build something where we could house all sorts of professionals in this field and offer it all in one place. My background and drywall and construction helped build the business. We’ve owned the building for multiple years and gutted and built it for two full years
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
To be honest apps and podcasts and blogs have never really been a part of our lives as we are your late millennials so everything we’ve done we’ve done through research and growth on our own
