Today we’d like to introduce you to Lizbet Becerra.
Hi Lizbet, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
As long as I can remember I knew I wanted my career to be in the beauty industry. I loved painting my nails, doing my hair and make up. I think this came from watching my mom growing up. She would always make sure her nails were done and you would never catch her leaving the house without her hair and makeup being done.
While doing a career project in high school I soon learned you could make good money working as a cosmetologist and that drove me. Knowing I could make a living while doing something I was passionate about.
After pushing through being a teen mom and working in warehouses after graduating high school, I decided I wanted to go back to school and do something more. I knew I had so much potential.
In 2019 I had the opportunity to go back to school to pursue my dream. I had originally wanted to pursue being a hair stylist, during school I realized there were so many options within the industry. Lashes at the time was a growing industry. It really caught my attention as really no one in the school was doing the service or had much interest because it really isn’t easy. It also wasn’t easy for me but something kept bringing me back and the struggle started to become a little bit less and less each time.
When i graduated in 2020 it was a very hard time to find a job especially in the beauty industry because of COVID. I decided i was going to start doing lashes “on the side” as i figured out where I wanted to work and while things calmed down.
It wasn’t easy at first and i really wanted to give up at one point.
Little did i know I was going to be able to push through that and be able to have my own LLC and build a clientele that has kept me in business for 5 years.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely was not a smooth road, Having a second child in the middle of having my business be at its peak was not easy as a business owner. I had to put a little bit of a pause in my career because i’ve always been a firm believer in I’m a mom first before I’m a business owner. But having an entrepreneur mind set did not make it easy. I’ve been able to find a balance now but the transition wasn’t easy.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Marvel Beauty Bar?

My goal is to keep my clientele happy and coming back as they are what keeps this dream alive.
