Conversations with Bridget Qual

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bridget Qual.

Hi Bridget, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
It all started when I would visit my Grandma in Iowa, she desperately needed help with her computer. I saw that the technology was advancing too quickly for her. While I was working in the I.T. Dept for Teen Challenge, I really liked going out in the field to support various staff members. As my job at MNTC started to change, I dreamed of having my own business and what it would be like. In March of 2025, I began the process of opening and owning a business. While I worked in both places it became apparent that I would need to leave MNTC, a very scary moment for me. I couldn’t give 100% at my job anymore so in August I decided to leave Teen Challenge. Since then I have been full time at Cybertech Solutions building a clientele and a foundation. We support both the community and businesses.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For us it was just the different aspects of owning your own business. Like advertising and getting an LLC, who to start networking with and for me speaking in public is a hurdle I face.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
While working for MNTC, I earned a number of industry certifications so that I could perform my job duties. I learned Microsoft Intune, (Mobile Device Management) helping the organization to manage all the devices that staff and clients were using. Before this I had earned my A+ as well as Windows Server Hybrid Administrator. These credentials and courses allowed me to provide help desk support, field tech work, and server administrator roles at MNTC. Working these roles I developed helpful skills like troubleshooting and social tech skills that helped me with business. Now, my daily work looks different with assisting people in the community by helping them with their personal tech issues. What makes this different is being able to make an immediate impact in someone’s daily life making their technology experiences simpler.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I believe that having a mentor is an important and can help with personal growth and decision making. I have also done a lot of networking in Alexandria. My first move was joining the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber has been an amazing resource helping with advertising and many other things.
