Life & Work with Juliana Koberg of New Ulm

Today we’d like to introduce you to Juliana Koberg.

Juliana Koberg

Juliana, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m Juliana, the founder of Juli’s Cleaning. I started my career in journalism, but everything changed when I became a mom. While I was pregnant with my first son, I wanted to bring in extra income, so I started offering residential cleaning in social media groups, leaving business cards on gas station bulletin boards, and hanging door hangers around the neighborhood.

At first, I was cleaning a handful of homes during nap times and evenings, just to help with the bills. As word spread and my schedule filled up, I realized this was more than a side job — it had the potential to become a structure business.

Cleaning and organizing have always been my gift, even since I was a little girl. What started 5 years ago as a simple hustle turned into my purpose: using that gift to help other people feel calmer, supported, and proud of their homes. Today, Juli’s Cleaning has grown into a small but mighty team serving families and businesses around New Ulm and nearby towns.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but it’s been worth it and honestly, pretty fun. As the business grows, the challenges just change: more clients, more employees, more responsibility.

Even with my corporate background and knowing how important systems are, actually building those processes from zero and getting everything to run like a smooth engine has been a big learning curve.

But I like the challenge. Every “problem” is just the next level of growth for me and for Juli’s Cleaning.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At Juli’s Cleaning, we take care of both homes and facilities. On the residential side, we do deep cleans, recurring maintenance, move-in/move-out cleanings and organizing. On the commercial side, we clean offices and small facilities, keeping common areas, restrooms, and workspaces looking professional and welcoming.

We’re especially known for our attention to detail and customer-focused service. Clients notice the little things like how we get into corners, ledges, light fixtures, or reorganize a space so it actually feels easier to live in. We listen, adjust to each home or business, and treat every space with respect.

What sets us apart is that we’re becoming a “one-stop shop” for cleaning needs. In addition to regular cleaning, we offer extras like carpet & upholstery cleaning, interior and exterior windows and more so clients don’t have to call three different companies. We’re always reinvesting in better equipment and training our team, because I want our quality to keep going up as we grow.

I’m most proud of the trust we’ve built. Many clients have been with us for years, and some of them followed me from the very beginning. Knowing they feel taken care of and seeing my team grow with me is the best part of what I do.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success to me is growing a business that supports many families and still having time to play with my kids.
