Rising Stars: Meet Daisy Solano of Oakdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daisy Solano.

Hi Daisy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hello, my name is Daisy Solano from Oakdale, MN. I’m a wife, a mom of three, and the founder of Sol Events. Sol Events began almost three years ago when my husband and I went through a difficult financial challenge that left us with a lot of debt, and we needed to find a way to generate additional income. At the time, I was working part-time for a wedding stylist and wanted to contribute more to help our family get back on track.

I’ve always loved decorating for family birthdays, so I started sharing photos of balloons I had done in hopes that someone would book me. Slowly, people began noticing my work, and what started as a small side project grew into something much bigger.

Today, this business has become my full-time career and has allowed me to be part of so many meaningful celebrations for families.

Looking back, I truly believe God had this plan for my life even before I could see it. That difficult season pushed me in the direction I needed to go, and I’ve seen His guidance every step of the way.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been easy. There have been slow seasons, moments of self-doubt, and times when I’ve felt overwhelmed, with long days and even longer nights trying to get everything done.

But through it all, my biggest motivation has been my faith. I trust that if God brings an opportunity my way, it’s because I’m meant to handle it, and that gives me the confidence to keep going and growing.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My work focuses on event styling and creating memorable experiences for people celebrating important moments in their lives. I specialize in balloon installations, custom backdrops, and full event setups for celebrations like birthdays, baby showers, corporate events, and other milestones.

One of the things I’m most proud of is how this business grew from something very small into something that now supports my family and allows me to work full-time doing something creative that I love.

I’ve also had the opportunity to host annual Galentine’s events for women in our community, focused on empowerment, connection, and friendship. These events are very meaningful to me because I also share about my faith and my personal journey, reminding people that life isn’t always perfect and that they’re not alone.

What sets me apart is the heart I put into every event. I treat each celebration like it’s for my own family. Family and community are a big part of who I am, and I show that through each event.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
One piece of advice I’d give to someone starting out is to just START and not overthink it, because sometimes we can get in our own way.
It doesn’t have to be perfect. When I began, I didn’t have everything figured out but you learn as you go!

Also, try not to compare your journey to what you see on social media. Everyone’s path is different. If you stay consistent, work hard, and remain passionate about what you do, great opportunities will come your way.
