Hidden Gems: Meet Leanne Kampfe of All That Glitters

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leanne Kampfe.

Hi Leanne, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
When we last connected, I was just beginning to explore adding permanent jewelry to All That Glitters. At the time, I wasn’t entirely sure how it would evolve, but I had a strong sense that there was something bigger there.

Over the past year, that intuition turned into a full expansion of the business. What started as a product-based brand has grown into an experience-driven concept centered around connection, creativity, and confidence.

In June of 2025, I signed a lease on a studio space in the North Loop, which opened new doors for All That Glitters. Having a dedicated space allowed me to expand beyond permanent jewelry and beauty into additional offerings like a charm bar, custom scent bar, and boutique ear piercing. In April 2026, I’ll be launching a custom lip gloss bar, continuing to build out interactive, hands-on experiences for clients.

The studio has opened the door to hosting events and collaborating with other female business owners to create shared experiences that bring people together in a meaningful way. I have always valued collaboration and community, and being able to center that in my work with All That Glitters is very fulfilling.

Ultimately, I’m working toward opening a full brick-and-mortar experience boutique in the next 3–5 years, one that blends beauty, jewelry, and interactive services into a space designed for both connection and self-expression.

I’m also excited to be joining Haven Beauty Collective this summer, a Minnetonka-based beauty and wellness space that aligns beautifully with the All That Glitters vision. It feels especially full-circle, as the owner is a Hopkins High School graduate, the same district where I’ve spent much of my career in education.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest challenges I have encountered is my own self-doubt, which often manifests in second-guessing my decisions and hesitating to take bold steps. I overthink everything, and my need for clarity is strong. Running a small business is filled with moments of uncertainty, such as fluctuating customer demand and unpredictable market trends. While my work as an educator can be just as unpredictable, I’ve been doing it for so long that I’m able to anticipate bumps in the road much more easily. In addition, I’ve relied on the consistency of a paycheck every two weeks that rarely differs from the previous one; so far, the revenue of my business has not been that repetitive. Obviously, one big reason for that is the relatively short period of time I’ve been generating revenue. Although I started All That Glitters in 2017, the introduction of permanent jewelry in 2024 marked a significant shift in the business’s revenue generation. I’m trying to develop the same sense of calm under pressure that I routinely demonstrate as an educator, where I manage significant challenges with composure. It’s definitely a work in progress.

As you know, we’re big fans of All That Glitters. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
What sets All That Glitters apart is the unique blend of creativity and structure I developed during my years in education. I regularly feel like the business brings all of my roles in education into one space. Teaching a signature scent class recently reminded me of my passion for teaching, which informs the creativity and personal connection I foster in my business. That event was a completely different experience from helping a customer style a permanent jewelry stack or design a constellation piercing. Those elements of the business offer opportunities for artistry, central to my background as a musician. And then there’s the backend of the business, a space in which I use my administrative skills daily.

I’m proud of having driven all of this forward with sheer force of will. All That Glitters offers a luxury experience focused on creativity, community, and joy. I see the brand as a reflection of the culture I built as a teacher and principal: high-quality, dependable, collaborative, and fun.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success looks different now than it did earlier in my career. I’m focused on building a life and business that feel energizing and meaningful, with joy at its core.

Of course, financial stability matters. And being able to support myself and have the freedom to enjoy life is part of that. More than that, though, I’m interested in creating work that brings me joy and genuine connections with people.

My background in education shaped a lot of who I am. I’ve spent years doing work that truly matters, and I’m proud of what I’ve contributed. That hasn’t changed, but I’m now in a season where I’m ready to channel that energy into something I’m building for myself.

For me, success means building something that not only supports my life, but also gives other women a space to feel confident, connected, and taken care of.
