Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Delacruz.
Hi Adam, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After a few years in the Auto Body industry I realized it was not something I had the passion to do anymore. I knew I wanted a change and with the support from my wife and kids, it led me to detailing cars, which I loved doing. I live the feeling of taking a vehicle that has gotten dirty on the inside and making it look like new again. When I started my business Midwest Detail Garage in the summer of 2023 I had very few customers, but I knew once word got around of my work, that my customer base would increase. Now in 2026, I have detailed hundreds of vehicles and my customers have increased which is why I am now considered the best detail shop in New Ulm. As my business grew and we moved into a bigger shop, a new name was just what we needed, so with the building change we are now known as NU Detail Place. The name change has also made a nice impact on the business for the better.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In the beginning of starting my business there was another well known detail shop that had been around for many years so I did have some good competition. As my work quality increased, the word got out and a lot of customers came to me for their detailing needs. Then with the increase of business, having to juggle between my work life and family life, which meant missing family time at home to work late nights at the shop to get customers vehicles detailed.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about NU Detail Place ?
NU Detail Place offers auto detailing services and we specialize in interior and exterior detailing. Our great attention to detail and our ability to make the most messy vehicle looking like new again makes us one of the top detail shops in southern Minnesota. Knowing that we have made so much growth in such little time has made me so proud of my business.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
If you don’t have the passion for what you’re doing currently in life, I suggest you take the rain and do what you’re passionate about. You only get one chance at life so make it worth it. Do what makes you happy. I wish I would have taken my own advice and and made that change sooner, but now I’m glad that I did and am happy with where my life is now.
