Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Okash.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m a therapist who has been serving the Hutchinson community since 2018. Before that, I worked as a social worker across a range of helping roles, always drawn to supporting people through some of their most vulnerable moments.
I began my career in an outpatient clinic, where I spent several years growing as a clinician. Over time, I felt a pull to build something of my own—something more aligned with my passion and the kind of care I wanted to provide. That’s what led me to start my private practice, with a focus on supporting individuals navigating OCD, anxiety, and trauma.
At the same time, I was building a family. I’m now a mom of three, and this past year, I welcomed twins into our lives. Life is full, busy, and often chaotic—but also deeply meaningful.
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned along the way is this: you don’t have to choose between motherhood and ambition. You can be present with your family and still pursue something you care deeply about. It’s not always balanced, and it’s not always easy—but it is possible.
I’m proud of the life I’ve built—one that holds both my work and my family, and continues to grow with both.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting my own practice brought it’s own fears. I was stepping away from stability into something I had to build from the ground up, and there were moments I questioned if I was making the right choice. I experienced self-doubt and there was a financial risk. It was the best decision I made and I once heard, if your dreams don’t scare you, they’re not big enough.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My practice was built out of a deep desire to provide thoughtful, specialized care for individuals who often feel stuck, overwhelmed, or misunderstood. I primarily work with clients navigating OCD, anxiety, and trauma, and I’m especially passionate about helping people who feel caught in cycles of intrusive thoughts, rumination, or fear that interfere with their daily lives.
From a brand perspective, I’m most proud of building something that reflects both clinical integrity and authenticity. My practice is grounded in high-quality care, but also in approachability—making therapy feel accessible, human, and not intimidating.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
The past ten years have brought some of the hardest trials of my life. Each season has taught me something new, but most importantly, it’s reinforced that you never fully know what someone else is going through. Everyone faces struggles—and whatever you’re going through, you don’t have to face it alone.
