Hidden Gems: Meet Corissa Sutton of Corissa Sutton Enterprises LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Corissa Sutton.

Hi Corissa, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Corissa Sutton Enterprises began as a real estate business, but over the last five years it has grown into something much bigger. What started with helping people buy and sell homes has evolved into a parent company centered on homeownership, education, empowerment, and community impact.

As a Black woman and first-generation real estate agent, my journey in this industry has not looked like the traditional path. I have had to learn, adapt, and build in ways that many of my counterparts did not. That experience shaped not only how I serve my clients, but also how I lead my business. I wanted to create something that went beyond transactions and truly addressed the barriers many families face on the road to stability and ownership.

Today, Corissa Sutton Enterprises includes several branches of work. In addition to real estate services, I provide consulting, educational programming, and empowerment-based initiatives designed to help people build confidence, knowledge, and long-term wealth. I am also the author of A Survivor’s Guide: Your First Year in Real Estate: How to Supplement What They Don’t Teach You in Real Estate School, a book created for new and aspiring agents who want a more honest, real-world perspective on the business. In it, I share personal stories, strategies, and lessons from navigating this industry as a Black woman and first-generation agent.

One of the most meaningful parts of this journey has been creating the CSE Single Moms Homeownership Initiative. This initiative was designed for single mothers who are rebuilding their lives and working toward homeownership. Our first program is a six-week cohort that helps moms create a realistic homeownership plan based on their actual life circumstances. We combine homeownership education with trauma-informed support, financial literacy, self-empowerment, co-parenting conversations, and community-based resources. It is about much more than buying a house — it is about helping women create peace, stability, and a path toward generational wealth for their families.

Where we are now is in a season of growth. We have served multiple cohorts, and the waitlist has grown to more than 100 moms, which shows just how needed this work is. Where we are headed is expansion. My vision is to continue growing Corissa Sutton Enterprises as a social impact company that bridges real estate, education, advocacy, and empowerment. I want to expand the Single Moms Homeownership Initiative, create more programs and resources for women-led households, grow our consulting and educational offerings, and continue building a business that makes homeownership feel accessible, attainable, and empowering for every client we serve.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Like many entrepreneurs, I have faced moments of doubt, growing pains, and the challenge of trying to balance everything at once. As a business owner, single mom, and head of household, there have been many seasons where I was carrying a lot personally and professionally. Trying to build a business while also leading a family can be overwhelming, and I have had to work through self-doubt and imposter syndrome more than once.

One of the biggest lessons for me has been learning how to be my own cheerleader. I have had to remind myself to give myself grace, compassion, and love, especially during the hard seasons. I’ve also learned that self-care is not optional. In order to lead well, serve others well, and keep building, I have had to be intentional about taking care of myself and finding joy outside of work.

Another part of my journey has been continuing to educate myself. Education makes me feel empowered, and I am always looking for ways to grow, improve, and strengthen what I’m building. Recently, I went back to school and completed my real estate broker classes, and I plan to take the exam later this year. That step is part of my bigger vision to add another level to Corissa Sutton Enterprises by eventually launching our own brokerage.

So while the journey has come with real challenges, it has also stretched me, sharpened me, and made me even more committed to the work I do. Every obstacle has helped shape the woman, leader, and visionary I am still becoming.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Corissa Sutton Enterprises LLC is more than a real estate company — it is a brand built on service, education, empowerment, and community impact. Over the years, what started as real estate has grown into a parent company that now includes consulting, educational programming, empowerment initiatives, and resources designed to help people move toward homeownership and long-term stability.

We are best known for going above and beyond. We believe in communicating clearly, educating our clients every step of the way, and making sure people feel supported — not just served. We know buying a home or working toward ownership can feel overwhelming, so we take pride in helping our clients feel informed, confident, and empowered throughout the journey.

Everything we do is grounded in our core values: integrity, empathy, education, equity, and community. Those are not just words to us — they are principles we stand on for every client, every family, and every program we build.

One of the parts of the brand I am most proud of is the CSE Single Moms Homeownership Initiative, which was created to help single mothers rebuild, plan, and work toward homeownership in a way that reflects their real life. It is a powerful extension of what CSE stands for: creating access, offering support, and helping people build a better future.

At the heart of it all, I want people to know that CSE is about more than real estate. It is about advocacy, education, opportunity, and helping people create stability, ownership, and legacy for themselves and their families.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I would say commitment has been one of the most important qualities in my success. You have to stay committed no matter how you feel and even when you do not see results right away. There are going to be hard days, slow seasons, and moments where you question yourself, but commitment is what keeps you moving.

I believe the tortoise won the race for a reason. Not everything happens overnight, and real success takes time. For me, commitment has meant staying focused, trusting the process, and continuing to show up for the vision even before all the pieces came together.

That mindset has helped me keep building, keep growing, and keep believing in what is possible.
