Today we’d like to introduce you to SBAA – Soderville Blaine Athletic Association.
Hi SBAA – Soderville Blaine Athletic Association, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I joined the SBAA board a few years ago representing both baseball and fastpitch. I’m also on the fastpitch board. I have two daughters that play for the SBAA organization. I first started as an assistant coach and then recently coached our 10A fastpitch team in 2025. I’m currently a resident in Ham Lake, MN.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being part of any organization has struggles. I think the biggest obstacle that any sports organization has to navigate is being proactive. Being on the board you are responsible for players safety, ensuring all parties (coaches, players, and parents) are respectful and abide by our code of conduct, and capital improvements. All of us our volunteers that are a part of the SBAA organization – at the end of the day we want our players and families to have a great experience.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I currently work for Corteva Agriscience as a Area Leader for the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin. We sell agricultural inputs to farmers and retailers. Those would include corn, soybeans, wheat, and crop protection chemicals. One of the main brands we sell would be Pioneer Branded products. I currently manage around 400 active employees and independent contractors in that geography. I’m most proud of the team that has been built. The employees and sales representatives are the backbone to our company. Being a part of building a successful team has been a large differentiator versus others in my opinion.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Prior to coaching softball – I was very active in our farming operation back in Iowa. Moving to MN for work doesn’t give me the time to get back to farm like I used to with my father.
