Meet Neha Markanda of NeMarks Advisors, Inc.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Neha Markanda.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I grew up across three continents and have visited over 40 countries, which gave me an early appreciation for diversity, adaptability, and the value of a global perspective. At the same time, a strong sense of service was instilled in me from a young age. My maternal grandfather, a lawyer, and my granduncle, a former police chief, were quiet heroes in their communities, and their example—along with that of my grandmother and parents—shaped my desire to give back.

That foundation naturally led me to Rotary. When I joined the Plymouth Rotary Club in 2022, Rotary’s motto, “Service Above Self,” deeply resonated with me. In 2024, I had the honor of serving as Club President, made possible by the trust and support of fellow members.

In addition to Rotary, I have taken on broader community leadership roles, including leading the Minnesota chapter of a national advocacy organization, serving on multiple boards and advisory groups, and currently serving as a Planning Commissioner and Chair of the Charter Commission for the City of Plymouth. These experiences have allowed me to help elevate underrepresented voices, engage diverse communities, and contribute to thoughtful, well-informed decision-making.

Professionally, I am a transformation and strategy leader, partnering with executive teams to turn vision into measurable outcomes. I focus on aligning strategy with execution—streamlining operations, improving decision-making, and helping organizations deliver results at scale. I hold an MBA from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management and a B.A. in Finance and Management from the University of Minnesota, Morris.

Across both my professional and community work, my goal has remained consistent: to contribute in ways that are thoughtful, impactful, and grounded in service.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been a completely smooth road. Balancing professional, civic, and community leadership roles has required learning to prioritize, delegate, and focus on impact over activity.

At its core, it is about making intentional choices that align with the legacy I hope to leave—staying authentic to my values, acting with integrity, and remaining grounded in who I am. I see my role as contributing toward meaningful good for the community and beyond, rather than simply holding leadership titles.

There have also been moments of working in spaces where perspectives were not always fully represented, which pushed me to listen more deeply and speak up more intentionally.

My focus is simply to lead with integrity, stay true to my values, and let service and impact define the legacy I leave behind.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a transformation and strategy consultant who partners with executive teams to turn priorities into measurable, sustainable results. I help leaders bridge the gap between strategy and execution by translating vision into clear operating direction, aligning structures and processes, and enabling organizations to deliver with clarity, speed, and discipline.

My work spans financial services, professional services, retail, agribusiness, medical devices, banking, legal, education, and nonprofit organizations. This breadth has given me a cross-industry lens on a consistent reality: most organizations do not fail at strategy—they struggle in turning intent into coordinated execution. With an international upbringing and multilingual fluency, I bring a global perspective that strengthens my ability to work across diverse teams, industries, and operating environments.

What I do and specialize in is helping leaders bring clarity to complexity and translate ambition into coordinated action. I work across senior leadership and operational teams to ensure alignment is real, decisions are grounded, and execution is coherent across the organization.

What sets me apart from others is that I do not just help leaders define direction—I help stabilize the system so organizations move from misalignment and repetition into clarity, faster alignment, and fewer breakdowns between leadership intent and execution. I approach organizations by focusing on where strategic intent breaks down in practice—where decisions lose clarity, where alignment slows, and where execution begins to drift. By identifying these points early, leaders are able to reduce friction and improve how strategy is actually carried out.

When I am present in a meeting, I have been told I serve as a voice of reason in moments of complexity—bringing calm, structure, and clarity when things feel fragmented or stuck. I help teams step back, regain perspective, and move from confusion to coordinated action with greater confidence and speed. Restoring clarity under pressure and helping people reconnect intent with execution is one of the most consistent ways I add value.

What I am most proud of is not a single project, but the ability to help leadership teams reconnect intent with execution in a way that improves how they work together. I am most engaged in moments where alignment has broken down, and helping people regain shared direction creates immediate, visible momentum in how organizations move forward.

At my core, I help organizations close the gap between strategic intent and operational reality in a way that strengthens how leaders think, decide, and execute together. The outcome is not just better strategy—it is fewer cycles of misalignment, faster alignment across teams, and more consistent delivery of what leaders set out to achieve in the first place.

What I want readers to know about my work is that it is grounded in clarity, discipline, and a belief that organizations succeed because of people working well together, not systems alone. My focus is on ensuring that sound strategy does not stall in execution, but becomes a real, sustainable impact for the organizations and communities it is intended to serve.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as turning intent into meaningful, lasting impact—whether in organizations or in the people who lead and work within them.

For me, success is not just a well-defined strategy, but seeing that intention translate into clarity, alignment, and real progress in how people work together. It is when teams are no longer stuck in confusion or misalignment, and leaders can move forward with confidence and shared direction.

On a personal level, I also see success in whether I have helped bring clarity in moments of complexity and made it easier for others to see a path forward. If people leave a conversation or engagement more aligned, more grounded, and better equipped to move forward, that is success to me.

Success is about reducing friction between intention and action, and helping people and organizations move forward in a way that is both effective and sustainable.
