Hi Carlynne, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Bare Sunless Studio was created from a passion for helping people feel confident in their skin while offering a safer alternative to traditional tanning. I started in the beauty industry several years ago, specializing in spray tanning, and quickly saw an opportunity to elevate the experience into something more customized and comfortable.
After working with thousands of clients, I opened Bare Sunless Studio in Rogers, Minnesota with a focus on natural, flawless results. Since then, we’ve had the opportunity to serve over 4,000 clients, including brides, students, and everyday clients preparing for events, vacations, or just wanting a confidence boost.
I’ve also expanded into education and advocacy through the Safe Glow Foundation, which promotes sun safety and skin cancer awareness. Today, we continue to grow with a strong focus on personalized results, client experience, and making every client feel their best.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When we opened our location in Rogers, one of the biggest challenges was simply getting people to know we were here and rebuilding a client base from the ground up. Even with experience in the industry, starting fresh in a new space meant focusing heavily on awareness, marketing, and building trust within the community. It took time to grow through word of mouth, consistent results, and client relationships. That process really pushed me to stay consistent and intentional, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to see the growth and support from the community since then.
We’ve been impressed with Bare Sunless Studio , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Bare Sunless Studio is a spray tan studio in Rogers, Minnesota focused on delivering customized, natural-looking results for every client. We offer a range of services, including classic, express, clear, and contour tans, all tailored to your skin tone, undertones, and lifestyle. What we’re really known for is consistency and attention to detail. No two clients are treated the same. We take the time to understand what each person is looking for and adjust everything from solution to application to make sure the end result looks smooth, even, and realistic.
One of the biggest things that sets us apart is our heated spray environment, which makes the experience much more comfortable, along with the level of care we put into prep, application, and aftercare. We’ve worked with over 4,000 clients, and that experience has allowed us to truly refine our process. I’m most proud of the reputation we’ve built. So much of our growth has come from repeat clients and referrals, which speaks to the trust people have in our work.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
There are so many people who have played a role in getting Bare Sunless Studio to where it is today.
First, my clients deserve a huge amount of credit. Their trust, loyalty, and referrals have been the foundation of the business. So much of our growth has come from word of mouth, and that support means everything.
I’ve also been incredibly lucky to have a strong support system behind the scenes. My husband has been a constant source of encouragement, especially during the early stages and big transitions. His support has allowed me to take risks and continue growing. My team has also played an important role. Having people who care about the client experience and take pride in their work has made a big difference in maintaining consistency and quality as we’ve grown.
