Hi Keisha, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2024 I was on a journey of self discovery, and I came across Molly Hopkins and her shop LiviRae Lingerie in Georgia. As a woman who has struggled to find the “right” bra my entire life, I was intrigued by the woman they called the boob guru. I contacted Molly via social media and set up a virtual fitting with her. When she came on my computer screen and told me I had nice boobies, I immediately had a new found confidence in myself. Molly then sent me a bra box with multiple bras that actually fit me and I knew right then that I wanted to make every woman feel what I felt. I want women to feel confident in their own skin and appreciate their bodies no matter the shape or size. After bringing Molly to Minnesota for a couple of pop ups, I knew I wanted to open my own shop, and with her guidance, I opened Sweet & Sassy Lingerie.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a very bumpy road, but that’s how you know you’re on the right path. I was a paralegal for 20 years and have two young children to think about, so giving up my stable job to start my own business was scary. I also had a few people along the way putting up a few road blocks. However, I have the most amazing people in my life and some of my closest friends are also successful women, who own their own businesses, willing to help navigate and guide me along the way. I also had one of the most successful women in the bra fitting and lingerie business as my mentor, so I knew I was going to be okay.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in bra fittings, size 30A-46J. I keep the bras in the back, because the reality is, most women do not know their correct size or what bra will work best for them, so we go back to the fitting room, where I size and access and then bring back bras I think will be best. I also discuss the importance of not only the right fitting bra, but a quality bra and how to properly care for those bras. If I do not have what someone needs, I will be on a mission to find it, because I know what it is like to suffer in an ill fitting bra.
I also offer a unique variety of pajamas, lingerie, shape wear, sizes xs-4x, and accessories. I also consider my store a sister store of LiviRae Lingerie, so if I have a question or need something I may not carry, I can make a quick call and get answers or have access to additional sizes and product if needed.
How do you define success?
Success to me is loving what you do and knowing I am doing something that can help someone look and feel more confident in their own skin. Money is of course important, but I would rather be doing something that makes a positive change in someone’s life. Nothing makes me happier than when I see the relief on a woman’s face when she is finally in a bra that fits.
