Today we’d like to introduce you to Pete Harty.
Pete, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Ive always been the business minded type and great at my craft, and one day while driving through our sad looking industrial park i decided i was going to start something to hopefully bring something back into my town. that started the journey that is now Harty Manufacturing inc. plenty of ups and downs and curve balls have came along the way, but many lessons have also been learned. i just wrapped up the Goldman Sachs 10,000 small business course and we are ready to expand the business to the next level and focusing on really building up the “Job Shop” side of the business, while still Making beautiful Railings and custom metal fabrication.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Its been bumpy over the years, Some times due to the economy other times due to my own ignorance. This year has been a record setting year right out the gate, so hopefully its only up from here on out.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
From the first time i picked up a welder, i knew Fabrication was my path in life. with over 30 years in the industry doing Sheetmetal and heavy metal fabrication, its taken me from inside dumpsters to some of the most elaborate staircase in the country and everything in-between. Our current focus is on the custom fabrication and stair/Railings and misc metals industry. and starting soon we will be expanding the “job Shop” side of things by adding a co2 cnc laser cutter, punch pressing and pressbrake capabilities to the mix by merging with another local Fabrication shop to help better serve our customers and gear up for the upcoming influx of manufacturing that will be coming back state side. Our Company culture, attention to detail and shear Pride in our work is what sets up above the rest
