Today we’d like to introduce you to Amelia Sullivan.
Hi Amelia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Colombia in a humble household. We definitely faced struggles growing up, but thankfully we always had what we needed. From a very young age, I was extremely independent and motivated to build a better future for myself. I started working at 17 while also studying, which was challenging at times, but it taught me discipline, resilience, and determination.
Academically, education has always been very important to me. I earned an associate degree in Accounting and Bilingual Administration and English as a second language, obtaining the best grades in English. Later continued into Business Administration, I was fortunate to receive scholarships for several semesters after achieving the highest grades in my faculty.
Before moving to the United States, I was working as an office administrator while continuing my studies. Then life completely changed when I came here and met the love of my life, who is now my husband. Moving to a new country meant leaving behind my family, friends, culture, food, music — basically everything familiar to me. Because of that transition, I wasn’t able to finish my bachelor’s degree.
At the same time, I discovered a creative side of myself that would eventually become my passion. I’ve always loved art and creativity, and I became deeply interested in makeup and beauty. Around seven years ago, I started creating content while I was still learning how to do makeup myself. I watched countless tutorials, enrolled in online makeup classes, and practiced everything on camera, sharing the entire process with my audience. Over time, my content expanded into skincare, perfumes, artistic makeup, and special effects makeup.
Then something very difficult happened — I lost my Instagram account, which was heartbreaking because I had built it for years. Starting over from zero was not easy, but it reminded me why I began in the first place. Today, I’m rebuilding my platform and continuing to share my love for beauty while also reminding women that makeup is meant to be fun and empowering, but that we are already beautiful exactly as we are.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges was moving to the United States and having to rebuild my life from scratch. I left behind everything that felt familiar and comforting to me. It was exciting, but also very lonely and emotionally difficult at times.
Another major setback was losing my Instagram account after spending years building it. That was heartbreaking because I had invested so much time, creativity, and passion into it. Starting over felt overwhelming, especially as a content creator.
Beyond the external struggles, I also went through some very difficult moments mentally and emotionally. I struggled with anxiety and depression, and there was a period where I felt like I completely lost myself. I no longer felt like the confident, intelligent, and independent woman I used to be. That was probably one of the hardest battles I’ve faced because it affected every area of my life.
What helped me the most was learning to prioritize my mental health and seeking therapy. Therapy truly changed my life and helped me reconnect with myself little by little. It taught me that rebuilding yourself is possible, even after setbacks, and that healing is just as important as success. Today, I feel stronger, more self-aware, and more grateful for every step of the journey.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a beauty and lifestyle content creator with a strong passion for makeup, skincare, fragrance, fashion, hair care, reviews and artistic expression. I started creating content while I was learning makeup myself, and over the years it naturally evolved into something much bigger. What began as practicing techniques on camera became a true creative outlet and eventually a career beginning for me.
I focus a lot on artistic, Halloween, and special effects makeup, which is one of my favorite parts of what I do. I’ve recreated more than 50 characters from famous movies, cartoons, and pop culture, while also designing original characters and looks completely from my own imagination. I love the transformation aspect of makeup and how it allows you to become anyone or anything for a moment.
More recently, I’ve also been focusing heavily on fragrance and perfume content, which has become another huge passion of mine. I currently have a perfume collection of around 250 fragrances, and I genuinely love reviewing scents, talking about fragrance notes, helping people discover perfumes that fit their personality, and sharing that experience with my audience.
What I’m most proud of is building a community by simply being myself. I think what sets me apart is that I’m very genuine and transparent online. I don’t try to create a perfect image — I show my real personality: funny, sarcastic, creative, kind, generous, honest, and sometimes a little chaotic in the best way. I think people connect with authenticity, and I’ve learned that not everyone will love you, and that’s okay. I’d rather be remembered for being real than for trying to fit into an image that isn’t me.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
First and foremost, my family and friends deserve a lot of credit for always supporting me and believing in me from the very beginning, even during moments when I doubted myself. Their encouragement has meant so much throughout my journey.
And of course, my followers and online community have played a huge role as well. The people who watch my content, interact with me, support my creativity, and continue growing with me are the reason I’m able to keep doing what I love. I’m incredibly grateful for the connection and support they’ve given me over the years.
