Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Gibson.
Hi Jennifer, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in a very small town in North Dakota, always drawn to technology and art, I found myself learning to code profiles on websites like Neopets and GaiaOnline. I excelled in my high school classes for graphic and web design, and participated in FBLA my senior year. I placed 2nd in Graphic Design and 1st in Web Design, continuing onto nationals and placing 4th in Web Design. After high school, I attended NDSCS in Wahpeton, ND for a year for my certificate in Web Design, and transferred to M|State in Moorhead, MN for my graphic design degree. Throughout college, I worked at different print shops including MinuteMan Press, OfficeMax, Scheel’s Corporate Print Shop, and The UPS Store. I moved to Minneapolis in 2017 looking for a change of pace and to a larger city. Once here, I worked for a local UPS Store, specializing in events like weddings and bar and bat mitzvahs, and helping small business owners creating their printing material. In 2025, JenBloom Studio was born. I could do all of the same work as I was before, but much more flexibility on my partnerships. I participated in styled shoots, dabbled in more web design and boutique services, and purchased a laser engraver and started creating some bookish goods with reading being my favorite hobby. Now any given week I am working on event stationery, attending networking meetings, working on a website, or attending a craft event as a vendor.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a fairly smooth road overall. I had a good foundational network, joined National Concierge Association in June of 2025 and that also helped me to network more. I believe that my experience effectively being a one woman show at many of my jobs set me up to be my own boss, and do it well. The hardest part is setting a schedule for yourself. I’m at the point now where I have events most nights of the week, and working 10+ hours a day. So trying to find some balance in my life as we head into summer.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I own JenBloom Studio, a boutique design studio specializing in event stationery, but especially weddings. I love bringing couple’s themes and ideas to life on printed page. This has also branched into Bar and Bat Mitzvah stationery, and event stationery for galas and fundraisers. In addition to events, I also love to help businesses with branding and corresponding items like business cards, letterheads, and flyers. In addition to general graphic design and printing, I have also been able to offer more with my new laser capabilities. I create all of my own designs for bookish events, things like bookmarks, keychains, tumbler engraving, stickers, and more.
What’s next?
At this stage of my business it is month by month figuring out what works. I keep on networking and keep the hustle strong. In the future I would love to get a business space outside my home and reclaim some of my home library back.
