Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassy Blum.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
It all started after I got married. Like a lot of couples, we spent months planning our wedding, but once it was over, I realized no one had prepared us for everything that came next. There were so many things to update, organize, and keep track of, and I constantly felt like I was forgetting something important. I remember thinking, “How is there not one place that tells you what to do after the wedding?”
A few years later, I opened a salon and spent every day working with brides. As they came back after their weddings, I started hearing the exact same things I’d experienced. They were overwhelmed by changing their name, updating documents, combining finances, and trying to remember all the little things that suddenly came with being married. That’s when it really clicked for me—I wasn’t the only one who had felt this way.
I called my best friend, Amanda, and told her there had to be a better solution. We started brainstorming what we wished we’d had after our own weddings, and that eventually became The Vow Vault.
We created it to be the guide and organization system we felt was missing. Our goal has always been simple: to make life after “I do” feel a little less overwhelming so couples can spend less time worrying about what they’re forgetting and more time enjoying the beginning of their marriage.
Looking back, it’s funny that the idea was sitting right in front of me for years. I lived it myself, then heard the same story over and over from the brides in my salon. Eventually, I realized it wasn’t just a personal frustration—it was a problem that deserved a solution.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been creating something that people don’t realize they need until they’ve already experienced the problem. Most couples spend months planning their wedding, but very little time thinking about everything that comes afterward. That means we’ve had to spend a lot of time educating people before they even understand why The Vow Vault exists.
We’ve also had to wear every hat imaginable. As a small business, we’re the designers, marketers, photographers, customer service team, and everything in between. There have been plenty of late nights learning skills we never expected we’d need.
At the same time, we’ve learned that building a business is a marathon, not a sprint. Every conversation with a newlywed who says, “I wish I’d had this,” reminds us why we started. Those moments make all the challenges worth it and keep us excited about what’s ahead.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The Vow Vault was created to solve a problem that almost every newlywed experiences but very few people talk about. The wedding industry spends so much time helping couples prepare for one day, but once the celebration is over, you’re suddenly expected to figure out everything that comes next on your own.
We created The Vow Vault to change that. It’s a guided organization system that helps newlyweds navigate everything from changing their name and updating legal documents to combining finances, organizing household information, and preserving the memories from one of the biggest seasons of their lives.
What I’m most proud of is that every part of it was created from real experience. Nothing was added just to fill pages—it all came from challenges we faced ourselves or conversations we had with other newlyweds over the years.
We also wanted it to feel special. Instead of creating another printable checklist or digital download, we designed a linen-bound keepsake that couples will actually want to keep on their bookshelf long after they’ve finished the tasks inside. It’s something that’s both practical and meaningful.
At the end of the day, our goal isn’t just to sell a product. We want to become the resource couples think of when they start their life together. If we can help take even a little bit of stress out of those first months of marriage, we’ve done what we set out to do.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I think people would be surprised to know how hands-on we’ve been with every single part of The Vow Vault. From designing every page and testing layouts to taking our own product photos, filming content, building the website, and packing orders, we’ve done it all ourselves. It’s been a huge learning experience, but it’s also made the business feel incredibly personal.
