Today we’d like to introduce you to Trisha Hayden.
Hi Trisha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My professional journey began more than 25 years ago as a registered nurse, where I had the privilege of caring for patients through every stage of health and illness. Working in traditional medicine gave me a deep appreciation for the life-saving advances of modern healthcare and the important role it plays in treating disease and acute medical conditions. At the same time, I began to recognize that many people were searching for something more. They wanted support not only for their physical health, but also for the stress, lifestyle habits, and emotional challenges that often influence overall well-being.
Driven by that realization, I began expanding my education beyond conventional medicine. While continuing to work full-time as a registered nurse, I built a part-time coaching and healing practice, earning certifications in integrative nutrition health coaching, somatic healing, meditation, yoga, Reiki, and other evidence-informed wellness approaches. Also, I began hosting women’s retreats. Every new certification deepened my understanding that lasting health is rarely created by a single intervention. It is often the result of consistent daily habits, nervous system regulation, movement, nutrition, restorative practices, and meaningful human connection.
As my client base grew, so did my passion for helping people take an active role in their own health. I became immersed in the world of wellness, continually seeking out therapies supported by both emerging research and real-world clinical experience. That curiosity led me to explore modalities such as medical-grade red light therapy, infrared sauna therapy, halotherapy (salt therapy), pulsed electromagnetic field therapy, sound healing, and other complementary approaches that can support recovery, resilience, and overall wellness alongside traditional medical care.
For more than seven years, I carried a vision of creating a space where people could access a variety of trusted wellness services under one roof. I imagined a place that would bring together skilled practitioners from different disciplines, making it easier for people to explore holistic health in an inviting, professional environment. Rather than choosing between conventional medicine and complementary care, my goal was to create a center where both perspectives could exist together, each contributing to a more complete picture of health.
That vision ultimately became The Springs Wellness Center. Reaching this point was more than opening a business. It marked the next chapter of my professional life. After years of building my coaching practice while working as a registered nurse, I was ready to expand my impact, step into the role of wellness center owner, and create a community dedicated to helping people restore, recharge, and invest in their long-term well-being.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Overall, the journey has been smoother than many people might expect, although there have certainly been challenges along the way. Like most construction projects, there were delays with permits, inspections, and contractor schedules that pushed my original timeline back. While those moments were frustrating, they also taught me patience and the importance of staying flexible when so much is outside of your control.
One of the biggest surprises was realizing just how much goes into creating a wellness center. People often think about the financial investment, which is certainly significant, but what they don’t always see is the emotional investment. Building a business like this requires countless decisions, long days, problem-solving, and a willingness to keep moving forward even when plans change.
Throughout the process, I kept coming back to the reason I started. Every challenge became easier to navigate because I knew I wasn’t simply building a business. I was creating a place that reflects my values and my vision for helping people take an active role in their health and well-being. That purpose made every setback feel worthwhile.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At the heart of everything I do is helping people reconnect with themselves so they can create meaningful, lasting change in their health and lives. While I have spent more than 25 years as a registered nurse, my work today extends beyond traditional healthcare. I am an empowerment coach, certified somatic healing practitioner, Reiki Master, meditation teacher, and integrative nutrition health coach. I also founded The Springs Wellness Center, where people can experience a variety of evidence-informed wellness services designed to support the whole person.
I don’t believe health is about chasing the next quick fix. I believe it’s about creating the conditions that allow the body and mind to function at their best. My work combines science with a whole-person approach, helping clients strengthen self-trust, understand the connection between their physical and emotional health, and develop practical habits that support long-term well-being.
What sets me apart is that I bridge two worlds. My background as a registered nurse gives me a strong foundation in conventional medicine, while my years of continued education in holistic health have shown me the value of complementary therapies that support the body’s natural healing processes. I don’t see those approaches as competing with one another. I believe they work best together.
One of the things I am most proud of is creating The Springs Wellness Center. It represents years of learning, dreaming, and believing that people deserve access to a collaborative wellness community where they can explore therapies such as medical-grade red light therapy, infrared sauna, halotherapy, coaching, bodywork, meditation, retreats, and other supportive services in one welcoming space. More than opening a business, I have built a place that reflects my belief that wellness should be proactive, empowering, and accessible.
Ultimately, I hope people know me as someone who genuinely cares, continues to learn, and is committed to helping others live healthier, more connected lives. If someone leaves a session feeling more hopeful, more empowered, and with a better understanding of how to care for themselves, then I know I’ve done my job.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I believe we’re entering a time when healthcare and wellness will become increasingly integrated rather than viewed as separate worlds. People are becoming more proactive about their health. Instead of waiting until they’re sick, they’re looking for ways to improve their sleep, reduce stress, support recovery, increase energy, and maintain their health long before disease develops.
I also think we’ll continue to see more research surrounding complementary wellness therapies such as red light therapy, infrared sauna, halotherapy, meditation, breathwork, and other lifestyle-based interventions. As the evidence grows, these modalities will become more widely accepted as valuable tools that can complement traditional medical care.
Another shift I see is that people are looking for personalized care. They want providers who take the time to listen, understand their goals, and create plans that fit their lives rather than offering the same solution to everyone. They’re also looking for trusted spaces where multiple wellness professionals can collaborate and support them from different perspectives.
My hope is that the future of healthcare places a greater emphasis on prevention alongside treatment. We will always need hospitals, medications, and medical interventions, and they save lives every day. At the same time, I believe we’ll place greater value on helping people build healthy habits, manage stress, improve nutrition, move their bodies, sleep well, and care for their health before chronic illness develops. When we combine the strengths of modern medicine with evidence-informed wellness practices, we create a more complete approach to caring for the whole person.
