to me

Leah Lyn Holmes started her performing journey at the age of three. Growing up in Minnesota with her close friends and family, it started in the dance studio, after taking inspiration from her sister, dancing before she was eligible. What longed to be an after-school activity, curated into a career, learning new styles, and working with teachers across the state, later becoming across the country, and world.

At the age of ten, Leah joined her middle school’s drama club, participating in Improv Club, plays, and musicals. She used her dancing, and her singing from choir class, and soared.

As Leah grew older into a teenager, she had a realization, that she often took things more serious in the arts, than her peers around her, and wanted to elevate herself to the next level of professional work. The Covid-19 pandemic made Leah more motivated, by being in quarantine with online dance classes, vocal lessons, and practicing acrobatic tricks in her basement, on a gymnastics mat.

Junior year of high school, Leah was enrolled in a performing arts high school, which completely changed her life, and prospective, not as a performer, but as growing into adulthood, and humanity.

Leah went to college to pursue musical theatre, which later lead to leaving, and joining to performance work force. Later, booking shows, entering the theme park entertainment industry, calculating finances, and a plan to having constant work, in a big city.

Leah is now living in Las Vegas, finishing her schooling, booking work, and setting herself up for the future, physically, mentally, financially, and living the dreams, she thought she would never accomplish.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
An obstacle or challenge is consistently comparing yourself to others. Having the question of, “Why don’t I have what they have?” and reassuring yourself with knowing everyone has their own journey. I repeat positivity in myself every day, but it still comes back to bite.

It is truly an interesting, and unique concept, but with the amount of effort and support from boyfriend, family, and friends, I could not be more grateful.

I had thoughts of quitting, being angry, sad, and insecure, but it only makes me stronger, and more determined than ever before.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
