Rising Stars: Meet Aryy Taylor of Minnesota

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aryy Taylor.

Hi Aryy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started braiding hair when I was in high school. I started doing my little sisters hair because we lived with our dad and he didn’t do hair well at all. I don’t notice how good I was at it until everywhere else started asking me to braids their hair, from them I started braiding hair and now I have more clientele than I’ve ever imagined.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For the most part I do think hair braiding has been a smooth road for me. The only struggles I’ve ran into have been finding a shop.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I braid hair. I do all kind of braids like knotless braids, stitch braids, French braids. I am most proud of how far I’ve came and how I am recognized. It feels like everybody knows me as the braider. I love that especially because I never saw this coming for me when I first started braiding my sisters hair at home when we were younger.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I best like how clean our city is compared to others! I least like when our city doesn’t come together and stand together.
