Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ Blezz.
Hi DJ, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
When I was young, I had a strong desire for music, especially playing musical instruments and understanding every piece that comes together to make a song. Growing up in a humble background, I utilized the resources available to me, such as using containers as drums and building some musical instruments from scratch. I was also interested in attending music shows and events. Sometimes, I could not afford the tickets, so I would stay close to the event just to listen to the music. My passion for music continued to grow until high school, when I started DJing using my friend’s computer, which I could only borrow for a few minutes at a time. After high school, I moved to the United States, where my DJing and musical journey have grown significantly.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As every road has a bend, my DJ career has also faced several challenges. These include the high cost of music equipment, which has sometimes made it difficult to access the gear I need. Moving from Kenya to the United States also brought significant changes and adjustments to my musical journey as well as the challenge of balancing my passion for music with a busy schedule.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I work in the healthcare field as a nurse, which is very different from the art of being a DJ. My passion for caring for patients and helping them regain their health and well-being gives me a deep sense of purpose and fulfillment. Knowing that I can make a positive difference in someone’s life brings me great joy and makes my soul happy.
How do you think about luck?
I believe luck can open or close doors, but our decisions, hard work, and persistence determine what we do with those opportunities. I’m also incredibly grateful for my fans and community, whose support, encouragement, and belief in me have played a huge role in my journey. Their support has given me the motivation to keep going, learn from challenges, and continue building toward something meaningful.
