Today we’d like to introduce you to William Young.
Hi William, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Before starting as a DJ, I danced professionally. I got into dancing, at a young age winning a lot of dance contests back in the day. “I even appeared in an MC Hammer shoe commercial in 1990,” I was raised in a musical family, I developed a passion for music at an early age marching in a drum & bugle core (Minnesota brass) Playing drums in my younger days.
“When I got older, I just wanted to channel my passion for music into being a DJ. I know how to engage the crowd and entertain them. I know how to create excitement and fun for all ages. and can take any event to the next level.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Anytime you start doing something with little experiences it’s always a learning curve. It was more with the equipment learning how to set up and make it look and sound really good for the customer. in time I got really good at it.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I see myself as a Professional entertainer. that knows how to play the right music to the crowd and know when to play those songs at the right time. I also know how to do more things to make the event more fun other than playing music.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Get yourself educated, go to DJ conventions meet other DJs join groups, and learn and play and learn to have fun doing what you are good at.
