Daily Inspiration: Meet Kelly Isom

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Isom.

Hi Kelly, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
For 23 years, I have been planning parties for my children, floral designing, putting together gift baskets and crafting. For 23 years family and friends have told me I should start a business doing these things. I dropped my youngest of my older daughters off to college and spent the whole ride home trying to figure out exactly how I could do that. With the support of family and friends, I began my business. I love to make people feel special! I always thought that my job as an RN is how I could impact people, but my business allows me to impact people in a different way. I get to put on parties, design a floral arrangements, put together a gift basket and touch people’s hearts.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of my obstacles is getting the word out to people of what it is I exactly do. Along with party planning, I sell hand-painted mason jars, Kleenex holders, design flower arrangements and put together gift baskets for any occasion.

Over the past couple of years, COVID has been a challenge. Many of the events I was planning were cancelled, postponed or just made a small celebration.

I would say is my biggest obstacle I see sparkles and glitter! To create a post or story can take me hours.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I put my heart and creativity into every party I plan! I take care of all the creative and tedious details, assist with developing a budget, picking out color scheme or theme for the party and help create a vision for the celebration. I guarantee the event will be decorated and executed with attention to the littlest details and will have guests raving afterwards!

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Making people feel special and celebrations they will remember!

As a breast cancer survivor fighting for a cause matters! A portion of my proceeds from every event or sale goes to help support breast cancer research.
