Today we’d like to introduce you to Juice Lord.
Hi Juice, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Outside of being a poet and into theatre 2013 was the initial spark of wanting to choose music as a career path when I saw Jay Z live in the Excel Energy Center. I left inspired and with more purpose to speak my truth for myself and others. iI went on to start performing at the Blue Nile Open Mic performing with Lucien Parker and then in 2015, I went on to perform in New York. It gave me all the motivation I needed and performed on sway in the morning here in MN and since then every year I have made more progress.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This road hasn’t been easy at all but it has been beautiful everything about it losing family members and friends in the streets have been the biggest struggle but through it all the art has kept me afloat, even through the pandemic, I managed to put out projects and still be creative.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am known for my music, community work, fashion, Acting, promoting at clubs, coaching at the Ymca. I am most proud of working with the kids, I started coaching and it gave me peace being able to give back and remain connected to sports I grew up playing, that being basketball and football and I worked in Saint Paul Public Schools. So I am known for many things and that is what separates me.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Too many to name but one that comes to mind is when I would play at rec centers everyday with friends family.
