Daily Inspiration: Meet Matt Hoffman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Matt Hoffman.

Hi Matt, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I believe that family bonds and support are some of the most powerful resources that anyone can have. I started my sports performance company, ALLtitude, with the focus of bringing the family back into youth sports. I’ve observed many sports, coaching, and training programs isolate an athlete’s family from sharing in the experiences of their youth athlete(s). Our aim is to eliminate that isolation and create an environment where we nurture the familial bond, all while providing top call youth athletic coaching.

I had been working in the health and fitness industry for close to 8 years when the first quarantine shutdown occurred. I was furloughed from the corporate fitness gym I had been working. For the first time in a while, I was removed from the whirlwind job requirements and hours. I realized then that I couldn’t believe how tired I was. Tired of the dispassionate grind, tired of working to collect a paycheck, tired of not feeling a fulfillment that I could sleep soundly on.

A few months of being closed in my home, multiple filled whiteboards, and many used up dry erase markers later I took my beliefs and formed them into a brand that I was excited to grow. It may sound like a study session, but it was really an eruption of so many emotions and feelings that I wanted to express. I’ve been at it as an entrepreneur in the athletic training and coaching industry for a little over a year. I have big plans to continue expanding the ALLtitude brand and welcome more families into it. I’ve been fortunate to have connected with many like-minded sports teams that want to see more success for their athletes. I’m thankful to them for trusting me and ALLtitude with their athletes.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’ve found that the road of business development can be as smooth as you want it to be. If you approach it with a rigid expectation and timeline, you find that nothing goes as planned. If you approach it with an “it is what it is” attitude, nothing ever gets done. The biggest learning process for me has been how do I balance these conflicting ideas, ensure I’m staying committed to my vision, and stay open-minded as to not let future opportunities to grow ALLtitude’s customer base slip by. If you’re the one making the road, might as well make it smooth.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Your body is always trying to tell you something. It could be telling you to rest, or it could be telling you that you have more strength than you think. Learning to listen to those signals, understanding what they’re telling you, and acting upon them in your training and life take time, practice, and patience. We believe that the journey of learning how to listen to those signals, and the directions you take to act upon them, is the key to unlocking your athletic and health potential. The rewards from this journey are lifelong. ALLtitude’s logo, our coaching, and our methodologies embody this belief. The combination of spiritual reflection and scientific methods meet to create ALLtitude’s 8 Directions. All directions return to you understanding yourself. Understanding yourself, and how to unlock your potential, becomes joy and success in any athletic or health endeavor you take on. You can reach higher. My coaches and I have unending faith in any athlete and family that we work with.

How do you define success?
I define success by how my clients, coaches, and customers define success. Their success is my success.
