Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Hove.
Hi Alexis, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After photographing families, seniors and weddings for 4 years, my heart has found its happy place within empowerment boudoir photography. My mission is to provide a shame free and supportive place where people are free to be themselves and exist on their own terms. As a body and self-love activist, I coach people who are struggling to accept and love themselves so that they will see how truly amazing they are.
I photograph all bodies and individuals who are ready to accept themselves and who want to express their inner beauty.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
There is always judgment and shame with almost everything we do as humans. People have their own beliefs about how people should look or exist and when we choose to exist for ourselves and not for the opinions of others, it can lead to others feeling uncomfortable. Luckily though, it’s through this discomfort that growth and change happen, starting a chain reaction of self acceptance and love.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an empowerment boudoir photographer. Boudoir to me, means intimate and authentic. I am known for my positivity and light that I share with my incredible clients.
Recently, I have started to photograph fashion portraits as a way of self-expression for my clients and it has been so fun to strip down my set and let my clients shine on their own.
I am most proud when I witness a nervous client let go of expectations and truly enjoy existing as their true selves. I get a unique perspective on the other side of the camera that not many people are fortunate enough to experience. I get to witness first hand, people’s insecurities melting off of them leaving them feeling empowered, beautiful and strong. When my clients leave my studio, they stand taller and walk with confidence. It is a truly amazing experience.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I photograph all bodies, genders, ages and races. I love all people and love the opportunity to photograph them in my studio. If you’re interested in booking a photo shoot of your own, please check out my website empoweredbyalexis.com and send me a message!
