Today we’d like to introduce you to Marissa Prill.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I knew from a very young age that my purpose was to help and heal people, to make others feel better. I dabbled in the ideas of many different forms of traditional jobs in which people help and heal one another, but nothing sat quite right with me. It took me 27 years to find my calling. Although it felt like it many times, my path never led me astray.
Growing up I was dealt what most people would consider to be the opposite of good cards. I was raised by two exceptionally loving parents, who both unfortunately struggled with addiction and mental health issues. This caused my childhood to be relatively chaotic, and extremely dysfunctional. Because of this, I always wanted what other people had. What I didn’t realize until I was about 26, is that life is actually what YOU make it. I lost my both of my parents suddenly, about 2 years apart. My mom passed when I was just 20, and my dad when I was 22. After years of depression and using alcohol as a coping mechanism, I began to allow myself to shift perspective. I’d slowly realized life wasn’t out to get me after all., that sometimes bad things just happen to good people.
After leaving an almost 4-year toxic and codependent relationship, I wanted to continue to make moves in the right direction. Yoga and journaling is where the growth started for me, and with the help of a friend, I began to get out of my comfort zone. I began to see my true potential, which helped me realize I needed to shed more layers. I felt stuck in my job – I was a server and bartender for my entire adult life. It came easy to me, and the money was great. Being an empath, it was an extremely draining job, though. 2020 rolled around, and suddenly everything shut down. Although I had been working on myself for 2 1/2 years, it was during this time I delved deeply into my spirituality and truly evolved. Being able to spend everyday alone, allowed me to sit with the uncomfortable parts of myself. I worked through many of my childhood traumas, dug deeply into shadow work, and dissected parts of me I didn’t full understand. So the real transcendence all started during the pandemic, and I am so grateful for my time stuck in my little apartment!
From then on, I realized my calling was actually in energy work, more specifically Reiki. I sought out a Master-Teacher to receive my lessons and attunements, and was lucky enough to have found someone amazing, whom I adore. After getting my level II in Gendai Reiki, I founded Hara Healing. I offer Reiki sessions, which are paired with claircognizant feedback for each client. In addition to one-on-ones, I also host various events with others in the wellness community such as day retreats, Creator’s Fair, workshops, and am also now taking on the role of event planning! Hara Healing is my baby, but I am also a co-creator and proudly play a big role in an amazing community based platform called Amma Earth (Grace Panian, founder). We work with a diverse mix of individuals, and our goal is to come together as a community to uplift, support, and learn from one another.
I never in a million years would have thought I could accomplish so much in such a short span of time — or at all at some point in my life. I feel so lucky to have such an incredible support system to encourage me throughout my journey. And to think…this is only the beginning!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I’ve definitely had my fair share of struggles, especially in my earlier years, but I also think those struggles molded me into the person I am now. I feel ever since I was asked to join Amma Earth’s community (Hara came later), things have just fallen into place. That being said, there are always going to be struggles and insecurities. There are moments where I fear failure. There are times when I don’t know what the heck I’m doing. There are phases where I feel I may not be doing enough. What gets me through those times is gifting myself Reiki, spending time in nature, practicing yoga and meditation, and journaling. My most important strategy, though, is surrendering to the universe. There is a plan for me, and against all odds, I’ve made it this far!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do? What are you most proud of?
As I stated earlier, I work in energy healing, and am a Gendai Reiki Master. For those who are new to Reiki, I’ll break down the basics! Reiki is a form of energy healing which originated in Japan. This energy lives within us all, but is awakened through the attunement process. With proper attunements (given to the student by Master-teacher), the practitioner is able to receive high-dimensional energy, and pass it on through the client via gentle touch. Through Reiki, you may experience a number of different benefits ranging from unblocking and balancing the chakras, to profound personal healing and self-discovery. Illness, stress, and anxiety occur when we lose our inner balance and connection to the universe. Reiki helps you to regain your resonance with the universe and your true, authentic self.
I specialize in, and am known for intuitive in person one-on-ones, which include claircognizant feedback. Claircognizance is essentially a “knowing”. During sessions, I receive information and messages to share with each client, which is what sets me apart from other Reiki practitioners.
I would say I am most proud of Creator’s Fair, which is an amazing event my long time friend and business partner, Grace Panian and I created. Our vision was to bring like-minded creators together and share with them a sense of community. Now, a few times a year, we bring together incredible and talented creators, and give them a space to network, uplift and support each other. Creator’s Fair also allows an opportunity to give exposure to their businesses, sell their product, and offer their services.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I love working with and connecting with others and am always open to collaborating with new people! The best way to reach me for a collabs would be to shoot me an email! As far as support goes, check out my events, show up if it’s something that interests you, spread the word and give a follow on my social media accounts!
