Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabella Brown.
Hi Isabella, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Soccer has been my main sport for as long as I can remember, growing up I played every sport you can imagine, but soccer is always my favorite. I stopped playing other sports my sophomore year in high school to focus on playing soccer. I committed to the University of North Carolina and played for 1 1/2 years there and then transferred to the University of Minnesota where I am currently playing now.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. The world of athletics is a hard world to navigate, and it is based purely off of merit, and some days are better than others, so The best way to deal with that is to be your best consistently. I enjoyed my time at the University of North Carolina, but I felt that I could flourish more elsewhere, so I decided to transfer to the University of Minnesota and it has been a great decision. I have been able to become a team leader, get more minutes on the field and score goals.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I think that I am known for my athletic ability. My dad played in the NBA for 13 years, so I come from one of the best athletes that you can be. Even with having a father that played in the NBA I am very self-motivated and I think that that is what I most proud of because I’m able to push myself to my limits day in and day out. I am also proud of myself for putting myself first when it came to transferring from the University of North Carolina to the University of Minnesota. I loved my time at the university of North Carolina but saw myself reaching my potential at the University of Minnesota.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
I think something that matters to me most is family and friends. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter what you have if you don’t have a good support system behind you.
