Meet Logan Wild

Today we’d like to introduce you to Logan Wild.

Hi Logan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My entire life has revolved around music. Ever since a little kid when I first played the drums at 3 years old and wanting to be a session drummer in middle school all the way to becoming and producer and engineer in high school to where I am now. It’s always just seemed to find me at the right moments. When I started producing I was using my friend’s old $200 laptop that could barely run Windows in my mother’s root cellar with one light bulb, no headphones, and definitely no speakers. I was only able to hear anything I made through the terrible laptop speakers or on my $30 Bluetooth speaker after I had already finished the song. As time went on I slowly began to meet more people, receive better opportunities and acquire more gear but I never forget where I came from. Five years can feel like a lifetime when you start to take your passion seriously. Looking back at it today, I remember so many long drives just to not get paid or even let in the door. To the late nights in my basement with my friends and clients making some amazing sounds. I think my constant drive and determination have led me to where I am today and I only plan to work harder as time goes on. You never know what’s beyond that next door of opportunity.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has never, and to be quite honest, I hope is never smooth. Not to say that I am not thankful for all of the great things I have that make life easier but, I believe the greatest successes come from the greatest battles and I think there’s a ton of beauty in that. I live for the hard work and stress. It’s what keeps me going. I know there’s always going to be something more to learn and something more I can give the world through my art. There have been many nights I’ve worked for free, or even worked for no one except myself. Just last year I moved all the way to Wilmington NC where I ran a commercial recording studio just to be evicted due to my so called, “friends” bringing all the wrong things, people, and energy to the wrong place. I lost it all. But I found a way to move past it. I moved everything into the living room of my house and made it work. I’ve been cast out, cut off, and broken down but I always work as hard as I can to come back greater.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a music producer. I set the vibe when there isn’t one and I create things nobody has ever heard before. I think the thing people know me most for would be my production style. I work fast and I’m proud of that. I’ve spent a lot of time getting better and better at my craft so I can always perform at my best. I also think that’s something that sets me apart from other people. I take pride in my work and I think that shows. It could be from something as simple as helping someone get their music onto streaming platforms and teaching them how to market themselves to learning a completely new style of music, sometimes even an instrument, just to give someone the sound they really want.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Definitely… I first went into business (outside of my mother’s house) when it all started. To me, nothing was ever different so I just thought that’s how things went. But, from the people around me who had been doing things for a long time showed me otherwise. I think a big lesson I was taught would be to be more considerate of other people’s situations. You never know how people are affected by anything really. I watched people’s lives change completely when I had only just started mine.
