Exploring Life & Business with Dakota Plaisted of All Things Goods

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dakota Plaisted.

Hi Dakota, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m Dakota Plaisted, the Creative Owner of All Things Goods. I started All Things Goods after styling and creating custom backdrops, signs, and walls for my own wedding. I quickly realized there was a lack of custom event decor rental where you could either pick through inventory or work with builders to create your vision piece and be able to rent it, skipping the hassle of owning, storing, transporting, and building the items yourself. It wasn’t even a thing here in Minnesota, so I set out to transform the event rental industry. Since then, All Things Goods has been working with a variety of clients creating and renting custom signs, backdrops, walls, bars, shelves, and more. But we don’t stop there, we’re also balloon and event stylists. You could say we’ve become a one-stop-shop event builder. After all, we’re here to help you bring your event dreams to life!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The Minnesota winter has definitely been my biggest struggle, It takes a bit longer to build when you can’t feel your fingers! But I don’t think you can ever say building a business from the ground up is a smooth ride. I am consistently working to streamline All Things Goods as a whole, making it an enjoyable, simple, and beautiful process.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
