Meet Tiffany Beamer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Beamer.

Hi Tiffany, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I always had a love for music, but wasn’t exactly sure how it would fit into my life. I dabbled in several different instruments myself and also enjoyed promoting other artists so I decided to enroll at IPR College of Creative Arts (Minneapolis) to learn Music Business. I always thought singing would be an impossible dream because I did not sound like the female pop singers I was hearing on the radio. Eventually, I realized every voice is unique and uncovered my passion for singing rock & roll. Once I saw The Runaways movie in 2010, which is based on the 70s all-female band of the same name, I decided right then and there to start an all-female rock band. I didn’t really know how to front a band, but I learned the ropes while I was already doing it. Somehow, I’ve managed to keep the band, Rebel Queens, going for over a decade. It can be challenging to come up with ways to keep the momentum going and keep myself inspired, but I’ve always found a way to do it. Connecting with people through music has been an amazing experience that I hope to keep doing for the rest of my life.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My road has been full of road blocks, construction, and crashes, but I’ve always managed to get a clear vision of how to move forward. Being in a band of women, some things are easier and some things are harder. Up until a couple years ago, some places would only allow maybe one female band in a line-up or it would be “too many women.” I have recently noticed things getting better with that. Bands and promoters in the rock community seem to be lifting each other up more than ever, which is a beautiful thing and I hope we all stay on that track.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am the singer, songwriter, manager, booker, CEO and jack-of-all-trades for the rock band, Rebel Queens. Based in Minneapolis, Rebel Queens is a band of hard-working, fun-loving, badass women that play 70’s/80s style powerhouse rock ‘n’ roll music. I like to say we have the fun energy of AC/DC and the rebel spirit of Joan Jett. Our show consists of original music, classic tracks, guitar riffs, and hair flips. We hope to make people remember what they love about rock ‘n’ roll. I’m really proud of the relationships that have been formed because of the band and seeing people from all different walks of life coming together through music.

How do you think about luck?
I really don’t think too much about luck. Life will always throw good and bad things at you and you just have to roll with the punches. You can’t just sit around and wait for things to happen to you simply by being in the right place and the right time. You have to make your own luck.
