Today we’d like to introduce you to Stefanie Asante-Totimeh.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Growing up in Ghana, West Africa, I loved to be on stage and show my creativity. I am a Registered nurse as well as a commercial model/actor, content creator, and budding new YouTuber. I love exploring, trying new foods, adventures, cooking with my kids, and creating stories that inspire and motivate!! I am also a wife, a mom of 2 . My kids inspire my work with their sheer curiosity and enthusiasm!
Being a creative has been challenging creating a huge following, but rewarding because it has kept me grounded in creating intentional stories. I am gradually seeing my stories and work being followed in Minnesota and beyond!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it has not been smooth. There were times I wanted to quit and wondered if the creative life was worth it since it is difficult in Minnesota as a black, African immigrant woman to get paid brand deals, do more commercial modeling work, and create a huge social media following to expand my brand without connections!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a commercial model/actor, content creator, and YouTuber.
I document my adventures as a mom, wellness advocate, fashionista, and commercial model living in Minnesota infused with my Ghanaian/African heritage. I love to dance and listen to afro-beats!.
Some of my proud moments include documenting my fun adventures on my YouTube channel. I love it when women tell me they are in awe of how I balance being an active and creative mompreneur! I am business-minded, driven, and intentional about what I give to my community.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
This year has been phenomenal with many paid creative opportunities that are allowing my creative work to be recognized a lot more.I look forward to booking many more paid projects locally and hopefully some traveling opportunities nationwide and internationally soon! ( My passport is calling, lol‼️)
