Meet Grayson Ferencik

Today we’d like to introduce you to Grayson Ferencik.

Hi Grayson, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My business and passion started long before it actually became a legal business, roughly 21 years ago through the influence of my uncle and my father, I received my first motorcycle. From that day forward I have never looked back and have been obsessed with racing, repairing, and living the dirt bike lifestyle. When I was 12, I purchased a motorcycle that required the same fuel that a jet plane would use. A family friend who referred to me as ‘G-Boy’ jokingly said he was going to start calling my Jetboy due to that motorcycle. A few years later, I created a Twitter handle “Jet____Boy” and it basically stuck, my friends started referring to me as Jetboy, and it went into my motorcycle graphics, it was a name that some people only knew me by. Several years later, still running the jetboy name, in an effort to get myself out of a 9-5 and keep myself in the dirt bike lifestyle JetBoy Co. was created, a company that is all about the dirt bike lifestyle.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Unless you have luck or lots of money on your side nothing is an overnight success. I have and continue to build my company from the ground up. I have faced many challenges along the way including, funds to get my business off the ground, and connecting with suppliers who both respond and provide products in a timely manner. Many times, it is a live-and-learn scenario but as I learn the hard way, I become one step closer to my goals.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My main overarching focus is motocross and the motocross industry. After the recession in 2008, the Moto community has been rebuilding and gaining momentum. My mission is to give the outside world insight into the everyday activities and world of someone who is completely obsessed with racing dirt bikes. Besides being known for my nickname “JetBoy” I am known for being the guy who is always racing, wrenching, or doing something dirt bike related. I am most proud of the effort I have put in to get me where I am today, without the long nights, early mornings, and everything in-between neither I nor my business would be in the place It is today. JetBoy Co. stands out and separates itself from everyone else by being one of the few lifestyle-based motocross brands, the Goal is not a single product or a single idea, its many things, its what it wants to be, it has become 1 of 1 and for that, I am both proud and motivated to continue striving for more.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
It may sound cliche but the people who deserve credit are the people who have both stuck by me, supported me, called me jetboy, and have believed in me when I may not have believed in myself. They have pushed me to keep striving for more, opened doors I couldn’t have, lead me down paths I may have not known of, and helped me reach the success I have today.
