Here is a brief of my story and a lot more to discuss the further journey. I have been published in The Times of India. Many of the major reasons I’m today are because of certain laws and rules that I stand by no matter the situation. I never listened to the naysayers and learned to remain calm throughout my journey, I observed and worked for what I believed and learned several lessons by falling several times by my mistakes, but in the end, it was worth it. If I ever reacted to stone pelters in my way and those who sowed seeds of self-doubt, I would have never been here. People who ask what’s the point of doing all this and you will never be able to do it, now ask how did you do it? If no one has ever done it, I feel I’m the first one who has done it. And that’s what I always wanted to set an example to people who can do this.
Today I helped several people achieve their dream physique and other life goals by counseling them at multiple points wherever necessary(I have been doing this for 2 years now). I’m ok with whatever people have for me. Few still doubt and question, but I have accepted it as part of my journey. I started from extremely low esteem, low self-confidence, lack of direction, self-doubts, incarceration, humiliation, and being orally bullied to now extremely confident with a major optimistic outlook towards everything. Everyday self-talks and the habit of analyzing my whole inner self changed me over time with tunnel vision. I worked on “Why” instead of just “HOW”. It’s all about how you see yourself and feel about yourself when others are doubted and made fun of. They still do, saying it’s an accidental success, and I talk and try to forcefully impose and thrust knowledge on everyone, but I play my game. There may be a pause in my game, but no quit or stop. And to accept openly, I still commit many mistakes, but with root cause analysis.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road is never smooth and often a lonely one. I have been a lone wolf for quite a long time now. Success is a lonely road; when you want to be different from the crowd, even your extremely close ones question you, but you know what and why you want to have it so badly. Moreover, a wise person knows everyone doesn’t need to understand you and your journey, and you mustn’t expect something from someone. You are the only one in your path. The soon a person realizes this, the sooner it gets easy to keep going. I have several hundreds of incidents where my family and best friends have told me that it’s enough, don’t go beyond this, you cannot be so harsh on yourself, you need not do this, it’s not worth it. What’s the point? You are not looking good and what not, but listening to all this, I imbibed a quality of not giving a damn and keep hustling.
Moreover, being a lone wolf isn’t easy; people have an extremely negative image of this. Few consider it a being single status; few consider it a negative trait that will eventually lead to negative thoughts, and others consider it a negative attitude of not listening to anyone and being a lout person. I’m of a mindset of -do or die, going all the way, this includes losing anything, even yourself, but the goal has to be achieved. Regular minds won’t and will never understand this concept. So never try to make people understand this. Keep your hustle on these shaky, stony, rocky, and thorny roads. You got this.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a Certified Nutrition and Fitness Coach, Certified Sports Nutrition Specialist, and Software professional. My job title says that I help people achieve their dream physique and fitness, but it’s much more. I conduct counseling sessions and help them change their lives in any way I can, either in relationships, roadblocks in achieving something, or even addiction to drugs, alcohol, and smoking. As a result, people thank me for the person they’ve become, but in my opinion, it’s 50-50 effort, and I give them credit for whatever they have been through and show them the path where they are going. So to summarize, I’m known to change people’s lives, either emotionally, mentally, or physically, and I’m proud that I’m doing this. It’s just my way of giving something back to the community and people—a stable mind, a stable life, and a happier one. The major thing that sets me apart from the crowd is I try to connect to my superior -the inner self, like meditation, where the upper being is channelized and activated. It helps to control whatever I do, my emotions, my actions, and almost everything. That’s how I gain the right mindset over almost everything to do, not perfectly but in the best possible way. Connect to yourself; you will discover and even invent the new you; your light helps others to shine automatically.
What was you like growing up?
As I grew up, there was a consistent change in my goals. Earlier during high school, I wanted to be an Astronaut. Later I wanted to join Armed Forces and tried for 8 long years to become an officer. While this period, I was already a Software Engineer and later into a Senior position, but the love for going beyond the 4*4 cubicle never ended. Hence I kept on trying. Later as I had been interested in Fitness since childhood, I decided to move ahead with my passion. This way I can never be bored and will also help people. When we seek our passion and make our hobbies our profession, it’s no more tiring. No matter how hard or long days you go through, you are always willing to take it up. During all these phases, I developed a personality where I got to know myself better. I started looking at myself differently; I never thought I would. Earlier during down times, I would never want to look at myself in the mirror, and today I look into the eyes of the person straight in the mirror. That’s a major personality development I have imbibed. I didn’t give up, which is why I have this never giving up attitude towards everything- Do or Die.
