Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassie Voogt.
Hi Cassie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
In middle school, I got my first digital camera and it was the best thing ever. I took photos of anything and everything. In high school, I did an internship with a family friend photographer. This opportunity gave me confidence in shooting, editing, and being a photographer in general. From there, I upgraded my gear, started my business, and started getting my name out there. Fast forward to today and I am busiest with photography than I ever have been, and I’m so grateful for everyone who trusts me to capture their photos.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There are always challenges with photography, and there always will be. I’m not perfect and I never will be the best photographer. There’s always so much to learn. Some struggles I’ve had is indoor lighting, camera gear not cooperating, unique location situations, etc.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a photographer based out of the Midwest. I specialize in couples and weddings, but I also love to shoot families & seniors. I love working with all my clients, and I think what sets me apart from other photographers is the relationships I build with my clients. I love meeting new people & getting to know the people I work with, more than just as their photographer, but as their friend.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is probably going to Disney World with my family when I was in 6th grade.
